Our mission : smiles.
We’ve heard it for decades: “what a cute town, with so much potential.” For those of us who live or work here, this potential is one of the reasons we love our town. If you’ve lived here long enough, your eyes tend to get used to the status quo, and that potential becomes something that someone else might tap into in the future. But, potential energy is not worth much if you can’t put it to use.
We are putting that potential to use. Our town already gives us a lot to be proud of- our historic buildings, our river, our parks. We want to elevate our strengths, and create more beauty though landscaping, plantings, trees, preservation of architecture, and community educational programs. By working with existing organizations, through various new programs, we will make Marietta a place where, wherever you look, you will find something to smile at.
We’ve been active since the mid 1990s, caring for the cherry trees and grass banks along the railroad that follows the mighty Susquehanna River. In 2019, we decided to amp things up.
Our West Market Street Planter Program brought beautiful affordable planters filled with vibrant, colorful, and eager plants along our business district. In the summer of 2020, we will double the amount of planters, and the program will extend to adjacent streets.
