𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀
The Department of Education (DepEd) is strengthening the capacity of educators to provide linguistically accessible instruction for Deaf learners through the National Training on Filipino Sign Language (FSL) as Medium of Instruction for Deaf Learners, being held from September 28 to October 2, 2026 at the DepEd ECOTECH Center.
Organized by the Bureau of Learning Delivery – Student Inclusion Division (BLD-SID), the five-day intensive training brings together key implementers and school leaders to enhance their instructional competencies in FSL and strengthen the implementation of Republic Act No. 11106, or the Filipino Sign Language Act.
The initiative underscores the importance of equipping educators with the skills needed to use FSL effectively in the classroom, helping create inclusive, equitable, and linguistically accessible learning environments for Deaf learners nationwide.
The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) supports this initiative and other efforts that advance the rights of persons with disabilities and promote inclusive education across the country. 💙
