Hey everybody! I know it's been a long while since I have posted anything here. But I have been battling the devil a lot this past year with everything that took place. But you know what, God has shown me that no matter what, I will prevail as long as I believe in Him!
I want to talk to you today about opening and closing doors. We have doors open and close for us all our lives. God opens and closes these doors for reasons we don't always understand or even realize He's doing it. These doors are God's way to showing us He is always watching and listening to us. You have always heard, that "when God closes a door, another one always opens." That is more true than we know.
As many of you know, this past year I lost both my mom and dad in late January. I shook me to my core, and the devil tried his hardest to use that as a wedge to drive between me and God. I had depended on my parents for so long for the guidance, their love and their approval. But God showed me that that was a door in my life that He knew needed to be closed in order for the next door in my life to be opened. My parents had fought their battles, lived their lives, and God knew it was their time to go home and rest. He also knew that I could not move on to what He had in store for me without closing that door so that the next door could open.
God has shown me that this next year big changes are coming for me and my ministry. What He has shown me are wonderful glorious things that could only be possible through God almighty. I am not sure how or when they will come or take place, but I put it all in God's hands and know that He will swing that door wide open and invite me in when the time is right.
I hope and pray that I am able to share all God's greatness and glorious happenings that are coming in my life with you all in the new year to come. I am sure it won't all be a bed of roses, but you gotta take the good with the bad. God will not put more on us than we can handle, and He will never forget us nor forsake us.
My heavenly father, I come to you right now and pray that whatever it is You have shown me, I will know it when the time comes and accept it with wide open arms as You have accepted me with Your wide open arms. I pray that 2023 will bring new breath and new life into A Hug and A Prayer Ministries and help to show the world Your love and Your word. Lord I ask and pray that You use me as You see fit to help show those around me and out there in the world Your love and presence in everything around us. I thank You Lord for everything You have done for me, given me and shown me even though I haven't always walked through those open doors You open for me. I pray that I will use those open doors when they come for You and for Your word. I pray this in Your holy name. Amen and Amen!
