Tomorrow in Abuja, we are convening a diverse assembly of leaders and experts representing the full spectrum of the One-Health community. By uniting voices from human health, agricultural health and environmental health, we are officially launching the Com-WATCH Project to address the urgent challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

We are not just launching a project; we are creating Nigeria's first community-level dataset which will help in making decisions to ensure that when you need an antibiotic, it is available, authentic, and effective. Follow our journey as we transform how we protect our people, livestock and environment against AMR.

Antibiotics save lives when they are used correctly.

Today, many medicines that once cured infections are slowly losing their power because they are often used the wrong way. This growing problem is called antimicrobial resistance.

Before taking antibiotics, always consult a qualified health professional and follow the treatment exactly as prescribed. Taking antibiotics without proper guidance or stopping treatment too early allows germs to adapt and become resistant.

The 20th of August 2025 remains a historic day for our intervention. We were honored to be named the Grand Prize Winner of The Trinity Challenge on Community Access to Effective Antibiotics. This prestigious award recognized Com-WATCH as a leading solution in the global fight against Antimicrobial Resistance and substandard medicines.

Winning this challenge provided us with the essential momentum needed to move forward with our integrated technology for tracking stock and identifying falsified antibiotics, ensuring that communities have access to the life-saving medications they deserve. In July 2025, the Com-WATCH team reached a major milestone when we were officially named a finalist for The Trinity Challenge on Community Access to Effective Antibiotics. Out of many innovative global entries, our team was selected for our commitment to tackling antimicrobial resistance at the grassroots level in Nigeria.

This recognition highlighted the hard work of our dedicated team members who believed that data and technology could empower community members and medicine vendors in the fight against Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). Being a finalist was more than just a title; it was a validation of our belief that community-led surveillance is the key to protecting our medicine supply and ensuring patient safety.
