On this eighth day of June, a Monday touched by new beginnings, the Katangkays stand at the meeting point of yesterday and tomorrow—bringing stories of their own, familiar faces to reunite with, unfamiliar ones to meet, and dreams formulated into the futures we hope to build.

To our co-STEM students: Welcome to this new school year we hope feels more like a space to grow into, rather than something to simply get through!

A year where every struggle turns into progress, every small win reminds us that we are doing better than we think, and even the in-between moments feel like part of our own ongoing experiment in learning and becoming.

| 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧-𝗦𝗘𝗜 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 🔍

Out of 𝟵𝟳,𝟲𝟭𝟳 examinees nationwide, only 𝟴,𝟱𝟬𝟬 qualified for the 2026 Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Undergraduate Scholarship Program—an acceptance rate of just 𝟴.𝟳𝟭%, making it one of the most competitive scholarship examinations in the country.

Among the thousands who took the challenge, only three students from Gubat successfully secured a place in the roster of 2026 DOST Scholars:
