We are saddened when “love is love” is misunderstood within our own Muslim community, and when Q***r Muslims are met with suspicion instead of sincerity. When we speak of love, it is not an agenda—it is an expression of our humanity and our faith.
For us, love is sacred. It is rooted in niyyah (intention), compassion, dignity, boundaries, and responsibility—values our faith teaches us to uphold in all relationships.
We are not asking to change beliefs or erase tradition. We are asking to be seen and respected as human beings who also strive for love, peace, and meaning with consciousness and accountability.
Love is love—when it is grounded in faith, integrity, and mercy. 🌙🤍 ***rmuslims ***rfaith ***rsolidarity ***rmuslimah

People often ask: “Does Islam embrace q***r people?”
Perhaps that’s not the question we should be asking.
Maybe the real question is — can Muslims embody the mercy that Islam was always meant to bring?
Because when I read the Qur’an, I don’t see a God who rejects.
I see a God who says:
“My mercy encompasses all things.” (7:156)
“We have certainly honored the children of Adam.” (17:70)
Islam began as a revolution of compassion — a faith that uplifted the oppressed, the unseen, the silenced.
It was never about conformity. It was always about dignity.
Some traditions may still struggle to understand q***r existence, but the heart of Islam — Allah, the Most Gracious and Most Compassionate — has never stopped beating with mercy.
It is we, as a community, who are still learning how to live that mercy in every generation.
I’ve seen and heard stories of people who share my faith but still cannot embrace q***r Muslims — as if q***rness and Islam cannot coexist. For them, the idea that one can be both q***r and Muslim is inconceivable.
But the essence of Islam already embraces us.
Our existence, too, is a sign of Allah’s creation — and His signs never lie.
Of course, there continues to be debate among scholars — about q***r Muslims, about women’s rights, even about whether a Muslim can keep a dog as a pet.
Yet when it comes to topics like q***rness, many traditional scholars avoid the conversation altogether. They fear it, rather than face it with courage, compassion, and faith. And so, the evolution of mercy — the very essence of rahmah — becomes too thin to survive.
That’s where the crisis begins. …con’td 👇🏾

“Allah did not create our existence to test us, but to test others — to see whether they can embrace and respect those who are different from them.”

Quran:

“Allah did not create our existence to test us, but to test others to see if they can embrace our existence.”
— Surah Al-Furqan (25:20)
