Our editor-in-chief recently sat down with acclaimed filmmaker and northern Westchester resident Joe Berlinger to learn what happened behind the scenes during the filming of "Some Kind of Monster"—the groundbreaking documentary that captured Metallica during one of the most turbulent periods in the band’s history.

Berlinger shares how a planned promotional video evolved into an intimate portrait of addiction, creativity, friendship and survival.
