Our latest newsletter for December arrived in my inbox and mailbox. Upcoming, on December 9, is our Member's Pot Luck. Doors open at 6pm and bring a dish to pass. Dining starts at 6:30pm and, of course, there will be stamps to browse and one of our newer members, David Luke, will be quizmaster for a philatelic quiz.

Bill Sobotka is our Past President, long-time member and board member. Bill completed his interview earlier this month and I have just now had a moment to to post it here on our page. I found this action shot of Bill conducting one of our many club auctions! I hope you enjoy getting to know Bill and his thoughts on stamp collecting.

A little late this month but here is our newsletter. Our next club meeting is next Tuesday, November 25. We hope we can have good attendance as we will have a presentation by club member, David Luke. He will be focusing on soldiers and the military on stamps. There will also be an opportunity to trade postal items with other members, so bringing you dupes!

If you didn’t get a chance to shop and view the exhibits at the Kent Philatelic Society show and dealer bourse (Kentpex) yesterday, keep in mind you still have all day today, from 10am to 3pm, to visit the various dealers and see the many great displays.

And, finally, today I received my postcard reminder in the mail from our club. If you are nearby here in Michigan or even this region, we hope you get a chance to come to our show and dealer bourse. Please see the image for dates, times and directions. What stamps were on your postcard? I received the Ring Master from the 1993 Circus Issue, Sc. no. 2751 and World War II - Truman announces Japan's surrender, Sc. no. 2981h, from the series of souvenir sheets issued for the 50th anniversary of the Second World War.

This year our theme for the upcoming Kentpex bourse and show is one you may already have heard of. This year’s theme focuses on the 250th anniversary of the appointment of the first American Postmaster General of the Post Office, Benjamin Franklin. The top three exhibitors at the Show will earn medals, ribbons, and plaques. Louis Morel's Every Stamp Tells a Story piece this month also focuses attention on old Ben. I hope you will take the time to give it a read.

Our most recent newsletter for October of 2025 is out for your reading pleasure. Kentpex is coming up shortly! This is the KPS Stamp Exhibition & Dealer Bourse. It will be held on Saturday, October 25 (10 AM to 4 PM) and on Sunday, October 26 (10 AM to 3 PM) at the Neal Fonger American Legion Post #179 in Walker. Seven dealers will attempt to cater to our collecting needs.
