Today we are honored to recognize C. Trimpe, LLC as a Business Health Hero Sponsor with a generous donation of $700 to help the senior dogs of Taffy’s Touch Senior Dog Rescue.

For more than 50 years, C. Trimpe, LLC has operated a specialized welding and fabrication business serving the agricultural community, modifying harvester parts for combines and shipping products throughout the United States and Canada. While they may not seek the spotlight, their generosity speaks volumes.

Susan and Ralph Trimpe first witnessed the realities of rescue when they helped transport Miah and Rosie from a crowded shelter to safety. Seeing firsthand how overwhelming the shelter environment can be for senior dogs opened their eyes to the challenges these sweet pups face every day. Their compassion for senior dogs, and their desire to make a difference, led them to support our mission.

They simply wanted to show support for the rescue and the work being done for senior dogs. That kindness and generosity will directly help provide veterinary care, food, medications, and other essentials for the seniors in our care.

Meet Murphy 💕 a gentle senior gentleman who is hoping to find a quiet, loving family to spend his golden years with.

Murphy is everything people love about senior dogs… calm, grateful, and easygoing. His favorite things include soft beds, naps, spray cheese, meal time, and simply being near his people. He’s perfectly content lounging beside you for movie night or relaxing in a sunny backyard.
This sweet boy enjoys short walks, rides well in the car, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. In fact, Murphy is so submissive that he’ll happily let everyone else have their way! He has shown zero aggression toward people or animals and has even peacefully shared space with chickens and young goats.
Murphy would thrive in a predictable, low-key home where he can enjoy companionship and plenty of cozy naps. While he does well with respectful children, he prefers a calmer environment and tends to retreat to a quiet room when things get too busy.
As a senior, Murphy does have a few special needs. He takes arthritis medication and daily eye drops, and stairs aren’t his friend. He’s also scheduled for a dental evaluation to ensure he’s feeling his best. Despite his age, his foster has discovered that with proper care and a little freedom to explore, Murphy enjoys spending time outdoors and showing off a playful side that was hidden away for years.
Murphy may take a little time to trust, but once he settles into a routine and learns you’re his person, you’ll have a loyal companion who asks for very little and gives so much in return.

🐾 What Does “Rescue” Really Mean? 🐾

We often hear people say, “The rescue should cover that,” or “The rescue can just take the dog.” We wanted to share a little insight into what rescue actually means and what happens behind the scenes.

At Taffy’s Touch Senior Dog Rescue, every dog that enters our program becomes our responsibility. That means we cover veterinary care, medications, surgeries, vaccinations, microchipping, and countless other expenses that help prepare a dog for a safe and healthy future.

What many don’t see are the late night emergency calls, transportation to appointments, fundraising efforts, application reviews, reference checks, adoption counseling, social media promotion, paperwork, and the countless hours dedicated to each dog. Rescue is not a building full of paid staff, it’s a group of passionate people donating their time, energy, homes, and hearts.

One of the biggest misconceptions about rescue is where the money comes from. The reality is that there is no government funding, no large corporate funding source, and no hidden pot of money. Every vet bill we pay, every bag of food we purchase, every surgery we approve, and every medication we provide is funded through donations, adoption fees, fundraisers, and the generosity of our supporters.

Our foster homes are the backbone of rescue. They open their homes to dogs who may be scared, neglected, medically fragile, grieving the loss of their owner, or simply in need of a second chance. Fosters provide daily care, love, patience, and valuable information that helps us find the right forever home.

When a dog is ready for adoption, the process doesn’t become “first come, first served.” We carefully review applications and select the home that is the best fit for that individual dog. Our goal is not just adoption… it’s a successful, lifelong placement. We want every dog to land exactly where they belong.

Rescue is expensive. Rescue is exhausting. Rescue is often heartbreaking.

Messages are answered while working full-time jobs, transport of dogs happens before or after work, evenings are spent coordinating vet care, and our weekends are for attending events and fundraising. The reality is that rescue often becomes a second full-time job but it’s one we gladly do because the dogs need us.

Rescue is also watching a neglected senior learn what love feels like. It’s seeing a dog leave for their forever home after months of healing. It’s knowing that because of our fosters, volunteers, donors, adopters, and supporters, another dog gets a chance.

When you support a rescue, you’re supporting far more than veterinary bills. You’re supporting an entire network of people working together to change lives ❤️

🐾 ADOPTION ALERT: MIAH! 🐾

We are thrilled to share that Miah has found her perfect forever home! While Taffy’s Touch will still be covering her dental procedure next month, she now gets to settle into the home where she’ll recover, heal, and spend the rest of her days surrounded by love.

I’ll be honest—sending Miah to foster was one of the hardest goodbyes. She is truly one of the sweetest souls to ever come through our rescue. But I had no doubt that she would eventually find exactly where she was meant to be, and that’s exactly what happened.

Thank you to her foster family for loving her and helping her on her journey, and thank you to her adopters for opening your hearts and home to this special girl.

Ernie loves following his humans around the house and will happily curl up next to you for a cozy nap. His foster describes him as one of the most loving and affectionate dogs they’ve ever met.
