House of Peace, A One New Man congregation A One New Man faith community of Jewish and Gentile followers of Yeshua (Jesus), patterned after the Ekklesia (Church) we see in the book of Acts.

Our purpose: We seek to bring Shalom to you and your community by showing you how to bridge the "holiness" gap between you and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and develop a personal relationship with Him through the Anointed One who is described as the Sar Shalom (which means, Prince of Peace). Our spiritual DNA: "Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh—who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body by human hands — that you were at that time without the Messiah/Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Messiah Yeshua-Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Messiah. For he is our peace, the one who made both groups into one and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility, when he nullified in his flesh the law of commandments in decrees. He did this to create in himself One New Man out of two, thus making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. And He came and proclaimed shalom to you who were far away and shalom to those who were near— for through Him we both have access to the Father by the same Ruach/Spirit. So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household. You have been built on the foundation made up of the emissaries and prophets, with Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus) Himself being the cornerstone." Ephesians 2:11-20

Who we are: A Yeshua-centered community of Jews and Gentiles seeking to love God and our fellow man through Bible teaching grounded in its Hebraic roots (connecting the dots between the two testaments), dynamic prayer life, Spirit-filled worship and authentic community.

*Shalom (Hebrew: שָׁלוֹם‎) is a Hebrew word which means much more than our traditional understanding of peace as in the absence of war, conflict, strife, etc. Shalom additionally embodies the ideas of wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare, health, harmony and tranquility.

We have all heard these verses from Philippians 4:5-7 many,
many times on what to do when we are anxious; some of us even have it memorized.
If you’re dealing with anxious thoughts as you read this, know that this state you find yourself in is not uncommon to man, and that you’re not alone; even the Lord Jesus had to battle anxious thoughts at Gethsemane about the ultimate suffering He was about to soon undertake willingly for our sake. Gethsemane in the Hebrew original means the place of crushing or pressing to produce oil, an oil press; do you see the spiritual symbolism behind the name of the place? You will feel the crushing, but it will in the end produce something beautiful-oil, which is always a symbol of anointing in the Hebrew Bible.

You and I might be in our “gethsemane” today. In fact, I am as I write these words and am doing the very thing I am encouraging all of us to do as I emulate our Lord Yeshua and also submit to the instructions of the Apostle as he was moved by God the Spirit to pen this text:
Philippians 4:5-7 ... The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Here’s a little secret to receiving that peace that surpasses all understanding mentioned at the end of those verses that no one usually tells you when they cite those verses:
it is hard work to surrender the source of your anxiety in prayer and supplication. It is hard work because our heart and soul is being continually buffeted by the source of the anxious thoughts and perhaps, even has surrendered and capitulated to it. So, the Lord is really asking us to fight back, taking up the shield of faith, faith in the Lord’s abilities and all His promises and provisions for you, to push back and overcome those oppressive thoughts. God the Spirit will help and assist you as you do this, but YOU have to put on the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, both of which have already been given to you. God has done His part to give you both, now it’s YOUR TURN to use them. No one else can do this for you. YOU must stand up and fight and fight you must. So, don’t despair and give up, stand up today and fight with all the Lord has already given you at great cost. And you WILL HAVE the peace that passeth all understanding.
Praying for your Shalom in Yeshua…
Your brother in Christ

Part 4 in our series through the letter of James examines how when we only listen to the Word but do not obey it, we not only deceive ourselves into thinking that we are actually submitted, but we also miss the blessing that comes from actually obeying His Words.

Q. Why was the early New Covenant community devoted to the teaching of the Apostles as it says in Acts 2:42?

Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Ans: In this message, we'll see that this is because listening to the Apostles is the same as listening to the Father (and the Messiah/Christ).
