Lesson for today. as Christians we need to daily walk with God and grow in grace, reading his word and talking to him. Satan would be tickled to death if you just get saved and leave it there. Of course Satan does not want anyone saved but he definitely does not want us to grow in grace and lead others to Christ. Isaiah 17:10 says "Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips:". Way too many Christians seem to have forgotten God even though they got saved. We are 100 per cent saved the day we accept Jesus as our Savior but God wants us to grow and become better Christians and serve him, not just grab salvation and stop there.

Lesson for today. As Christians we should be ashamed if we partake of Pride month celebrating LBGTQ lifestyle. Not only are these folks celebrating that they are proud, but they are celebrating being proud of a sinful lifestyle that God hates so much that he destroyed two cities for partaking of. Proverbs 8:13 proclaims "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate."

Lesson for today. God's word ought to be the most cherished thing in our lives as Christians. Many Christians never pick the Bible up and read it during the week. Proverbs 7:1-4 says "My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:" God says his word should be the 'apple of our eye". The expression "apple of one's eye" refers to something or someone that one cherishes above all others. It signifies a person who holds a special place in someone's heart. We ignore God's word and refuse to read it, then wonder why we are so tempted often tempted and fail. Verse 5 explains "That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words."

Lesson for today. The Bible clearly teaches we should not co-sign or obligate ourselves for someone else' loan or obligation. Proverbs 6:1-5 reminds us this and says if we have already done so, we need to get out of that obligation as soon as possible. "My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger, Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth. Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend. Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids. Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler." More times than not when one co-signs he will end up having to pay the bill in the end. There is a reason someone needs a co-signer and the reason is often due to lack of being able to manage their finances. God says we are to take care of our own responsibilities and not put ourselves in jeopardy for other's bills. There is nothing wrong with helping someone if you have the money to do so, but we should not put ourselves in a financial obligation on a loan for someone else.

Lesson for today. We can obey God and serve him or we can disobey and ignore him for a time, but eventually will wish we had. Proverbs 5:7-13 says "Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!" It is much better to obey and allow his blessings than to disobey and face his judgement. Some folks want to deny him today, but the Bible is clear that one day they will bow down and confess him. Philippians 2:9-11 reminds us "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Lesson for today. God will not tolerate sin forever. Folks often want to speak of God being all about love, but God is also righteous and will not always tolerate sin. We see that judgement in the S***m and Gomorrah account. Isaiah 13:11-19 warns "And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger. And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land. Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children. And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew S***m and Gomorrah."

03/06/2026

Lesson for today. We are commanded to honor God with our tithes and offerings. Proverbs 3:9-10 says " Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." In other words God should not just get what's left over. Way too often we see God's people drop a five dollar bill in the church offering, then whining because they can't pay their bills. God promises to bless obedience. We cannot outgive God. God says if we honor him with our substance and firstfruits that our barns will be filled with plenty. As his children we have just as much right to claim this promise as we do the promise of salvation.

Lesson for today. We must be careful to give God the glory for what he allows us to be or accomplish. None of us are really 'self made" people. Anything we accomplish is by the grace of God. Isaiah 10:12-15 says "Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped. Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood."

01/06/2026

Lesson for today. It is a shame folks don't seem to want to acknowledge God until they get in trouble or face adversity. God is not obligated to stand by and wait for us to recognize and acknowledge him. Proverbs 1:25-30 reminds us "But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof."

31/05/2026

Lesson for today. We ought to more concerned with pleasing God than with making peace with the world around us. Isaiah 8:9-13 says " Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us. For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread."
