I could stay here all day…

You know how you get some really great moments in life? Well, tonight was one of mine.

Ellie kept telling me she was going to score a goal for my birthday. I told her, “Just play your best.”

With four minutes left and the game tied, she popped the ball over defenders to score the winning goal. All her friends ran up and hugged her but she jumped up and pointed both hands at me to say, “That was for you, mom.” I ran down the sidelines, high-fived people I didn’t know. My eyes filled with all the happy tears.

But then at dinner she said, “Did you know that Sara is one of the most common names for Karens?” WTH, Ellie!

I have to remember this one. And here’s the selfie with Ellie to mark it!

I walked two miles. Two miles. Didn’t need to stop. Didn’t need to lay down afterwards. I remember thinking I wouldn’t be able to go for long walks anymore. Oh, what a day it is!
