We all know that we should look after ourselves. We all know that on paper maintaining a healthy balanced diet, exercising once a day and sleeping 7-8 hours is the key to total body fulfillment.

๐—ข๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ถ๐˜?

We haven't taken into account, children, jobs, struggles, family losses and daily LIFE.

Knowing all that you should do to take care of yourself isn't the same as being able to do it, and it can skew your perspective. Making it hard to see what you actually are doing that's healthy.

Take time out from your busy schedule and carry out some important self care. Reflect on your current situation, acknowledge your feelings and emotions, evaluate your progress and goals and focus on what will move you forward in life.

Self care isn't selfish, it's the key to become the best version of you!

It can be so easy to overthink and let your thoughts get a hold of you and tear you down. It sounds silly but just remember, your thoughts, are simply just thoughts.

The only control they have over them is the power you give them. YOU are in control of your thoughts, they are NOT in control of you.

So next time you feel yourself starting to overthink, just take a second to check yourself and realise that you are in control and you can change those negative thought cycles.

Are you carrying negative emotions that you may be projecting onto the people closest to you?

The way I view carrying emotions is like picking up rocks. When you feel angry about something you pick up a rock. That rock then can weigh you down throughout your day, week, month or even for years.

Itโ€™s so important to deal with your emotions and put those rocks back down because if you donโ€™t deal with your emotions and you just hold onto them then guess what happensโ€ฆ

You end up throwing those rocks that you are carrying at people and projecting your negative emotions onto other people. This can lead to you saying things you donโ€™t mean or just simply lashing out for no reason.

So make sure you deal with your emotions in a positive way to prevent hurting the people closest to you.

Loneliness is going around, and itโ€™s having a pretty big impact.

This time of year can be extremely lonely and not just for those who are on their own.

Sometimes being around friends and family can still create a feeling of loneliness. Often being in the presence of, or seeing others happy can leave you with a sense of 'somethings missing in your life'.

So how can we avoid these feelings coming to fruition:

1. ๐—™๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ/๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐˜€๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ - Sound helps fill the space in your environment and thoughts, making it less overwhelming.

2. ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ - Sometimes a quick text can seem like the easiest way to connect, but donโ€™t underestimate the power of hearing a loved oneโ€™s voice. Even a 10-minute call can help ease loneliness โ€” for you and them.

3. ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ธ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฎ - While social media often seems like an appealing way to maintain connections with loved ones, it can sometimes increase feelings of loneliness. Seeing others posts and stories can make it feel worse so don't get suckered into an endless scroll through Facebook or Instagram.

4. ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ธ ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜€ - Emotions tend to gather under the surface and intensify when they go unacknowledged. Expressing your feelings, however, you feel best suits you (journal, diary, talk to friends or family).

5. ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ป'๐˜ ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ - However overwhelming it feels, loneliness wonโ€™t last forever. Acknowledging that fact can sometimes bring some relief.

When waves of loneliness crash over your head, thereโ€™s a lot you can do to ride them out and the list above isn't extensive by any means.

However if loneliness doesnโ€™t seem to improve and you feel low more often than not, seeking professional advice is advised as it can help greatly.
