🩵🧩 Fragile X Awareness Day 🧩🩵
Today, The Arc of the Quad Cities Area recognizes Fragile X Awareness Day, a time to learn, share, and support individuals and families affected by Fragile X Syndrome (FXS).
Fragile X Syndrome is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability and can affect learning, development, behavior, and social interactions. Because Fragile X impacts each person differently, awareness and understanding are essential to building inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
🩵 Why Awareness Matters
✅ Promotes understanding and acceptance
✅ Encourages early diagnosis and intervention
✅ Connects families with resources and support
✅ Helps create more inclusive schools, workplaces, and communities
At The Arc, we believe that knowledge leads to understanding, and understanding leads to greater opportunity for everyone.
👉 Learn more about Fragile X Syndrome and how you can help raise awareness by visiting the CDC's website:
https://www.cdc.gov/fragile-x-syndrome/about/index.html
Together, we can help ensure that individuals with Fragile X Syndrome are supported, included, and empowered to reach their full potential. 💙
