In rural villages across Busoga region, families suffer from chronic poverty. There's little access to health services or nutritious food, and extreme weather events disrupt daily life. Children have to walk miles to reach the nearest school and early marriage and child labor often keep them out of the classroom.

When you become a child sponsor, you help mobilize entire communities to identify and address challenges impacting children's chances of future success. Okoa Hero's child Ministries collaborates with parents, teachers and local decision-makers to organize educational meetings, group trainings and advocacy efforts, building resilience and making change that reaches generations of kids.

We combine your monthly sponsorship donations with other sponsors for maximum impact in each community. You'll help the child you sponsor and other children in the community with life-changing things like: nutrition, healthcare and education.

Today some of our sponsored children returned home for vacation. We would like to say a huge thank you to those who accepted our call and decided to sponsor some of our children in the organization.

We are currently taking care of 21 children in our rental home and we continue to ask you to be a hero to the children who have no sponsorship.

By sponsoring a child, you are lifting them out of despair. You give them education and hope. It is also essential for us to convey Christian values.

When the children realize they are children of God and have a special value, a change occurs. They also begin to blossom in other areas of their lives.

Parents in Iganga have called on the government to come to their rescue and improve the learning environment in most government aided schools in the district.

This is because many schools are grappling with congestion in dilapidated classrooms with pupils forced to flee to their homes whenever it rains because of leaking roofs.
