𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 29 July 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ECCP) Davao visited Aria Hotel & Residences, one of Davao City’s rising luxury hotels, for an ocular visit and discussion on potential future collaboration.

Representing the ECCP were Ms. Rie Realingo, ECCP Davao Branch Officer, and Ms. Sam Gura, BAEP Project Associate, who were warmly welcomed by the management representative of Aria Hotel & Residences.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 10 July 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Davao held a coordination meeting with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) to discuss preparations for a proposed BIMP-EAGA Investment Advocacy Forum. Conducted virtually via Zoom, the meeting focused on the proposed schedules, venue, program, and strategies to encourage greater private sector participation, promote investment opportunities in Tawi-tawi and BARMM, and strengthen regional collaboration across the BIMP-EAGA subregion. Discussions also covered the proposed involvement of government agencies, diplomatic missions, and key industry stakeholders to support the objectives of the event.

Also present during the meeting were Mr. Jonathan Miral, International Relations Chief of MinDA; Mr. Antonio Peralta, ECCP Southern Mindanao Business Council Chairperson; Mr. Gerry Constantino, Director for Projects and BAEP-CRESCENT Project Manager; and Ms. Rie Realingo, ECCP Davao Branch Officer; together with other representatives from ECCP and MinDA.

The meeting underscores ECCP Davao's continued collaboration with MinDA in advancing initiatives that foster regional connectivity, attract investments, and promote sustainable economic growth across Mindanao and the wider BIMP-EAGA region.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 08 July 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) welcomed representatives from La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) for an educational visit aimed at strengthening industry-academe engagement and enhancing understanding of current business trends, international best practices, and the evolving needs of the business community.

The ECCP Davao Branch was represented virtually by Ms. Rie Realingo, ECCP Davao Branch Officer and Education Committee Coordinator, who joined the rest of the ECCP team in discussions on opportunities to strengthen industry-academe collaboration.

The meeting also served as an opportunity to introduce the Chamber’s initiatives and membership opportunities, while exchanging insights on workforce readiness, knowledge exchange, and institutional partnerships.

As part of the initiatives of the Education Committee of ECCP, the engagement underscores the Chamber’s commitment to advancing industry-academe collaboration and supporting a more competitive, resilient, and future-ready workforce.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: On 09 July 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce (ECCP) Davao conducted a meeting with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) to discuss future possible collaboration for an upcoming BIMP-EAGA event this year.

Present in the meeting were Ms. Rie Realingo, ECCP Davao Branch Officer; Usec. Janet M. Lopoz, Executive Director of Mindanao Development Authority; and the Investment Promotions and Public Affairs Office (IPPAO) team of MinDA.

The ECCP continues to foster meaningful partnerships that champion business opportunities and strengthen alliance in the Mindanao region.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: On 7 July 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Davao, represented by Ms. Rie Realingo, Davao Branch Officer, participated in a Courtesy Meeting with Hon. Angelo A. Jimenez, President of the University of the Philippines, and Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh, Consul General of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao City.

Bringing together one of the country’s top national university systems and a key diplomatic partner, the engagement marked a significant opportunity to strengthen ties among academe, diplomacy, and the private sector. The meeting took place during ECCP Davao’s attendance at the 28th Commencement Exercises of the University of the Philippines Mindanao.

The courtesy meeting provided a platform to discuss potential areas for collaboration among ECCP, the University of the Philippines, and the Consulate General of Malaysia, particularly in relation to academic partnerships and international engagement. Among the key points discussed was the possibility of partnering with universities for a conference in Malaysia focused on leadership, empowerment, and training, with UP Mindanao exploring potential participation. The discussion also touched on strengthening academic and institutional linkages, as well as ECCP’s ongoing coordination with regional platforms such as BIMP-EAGA in support of broader private sector participation and regional collaboration.

Also present during the meeting were Prof. Lyre Anni E. Murao, Chancellor of UP Mindanao; Atty. Karlo Miguel B. Abuda, Head Executive Assistant of the Office of the President, University of the Philippines; and Assoc. Prof. Dennis John Sumaylo, International Linkages Coordinator of UP Mindanao.

The engagement underscores ECCP Davao’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with leading academic institutions and international partners—opening avenues for knowledge exchange, leadership development, and future collaboration in Mindanao and beyond.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: On 30 June 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Davao, represented by Ms. Rie Realingo, Davao Branch Officer, together with the University of the Philippines Mindanao, paid a courtesy call to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao City and met with Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh, Consul General of Malaysia to the Philippines.

The UP Mindanao delegation was composed of Dr. Lyre Anni Murao, UP Mindanao Chancellor; Assoc. Prof. Dennis John Sumaylo, International Linkages Coordinator; Mr. Ruben B. Tabalina of the Office of International Linkages; and Ms. KC Ann Abella.

Facilitated through ECCP Davao’s endorsement of UP Mindanao to the Consulate General of Malaysia, the courtesy call created an opportunity to explore potential academic and cultural collaboration. During the meeting, both parties exchanged insights on strengthening international linkages and discussed initiatives that support global engagement, knowledge exchange, and partnerships in higher education.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 24 June 2026, Her Excellency Saija Nurminen paid a courtesy visit to the Davao City Library & Information Center, fostering knowledge-sharing and international friendship.

In a meaningful gesture aimed at enriching local literary resources, the Ambassador spearheaded a book donation handover. Joining her for this special turnover ceremony were Mr. Antonio “Tony” Peralta, ECCP-SMBC Chairman and Honorary Consul of Finland to Mindanao, and Ms. Rie Realingo, ECCP Davao Branch Officer. The delegation was warmly received by the library leadership, led by Ms. Salome M. Enoc, Head of Office, Davao City Library and Information Center, and Mr. Elmer L. Amarillo, Librarian II.

Beyond the official turnover, Her Excellency took the time to interact and take photos with the local students present at the library, inspiring the young Davaoeño minds and highlighting the universal importance of education, literacy, and cross-cultural learning.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 24 June 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Davao, together with H. E. Saija Nurminen, Ambassador of Finland to the Philippines; Mr. Antonio “Tony” Peralta, ECCP-SMBC Chairman and Honorary Consul of Finland to Mindanao; and Ms. Rie Realingo, ECCP Davao Branch Officer, visited Museo Dabawenyo for a guided tour led by Ms. Maria Concepcion Baek, In-House Guide.

During the visit, the delegation explored the museum’s exhibits and gained insights into the rich history, culture, and heritage of Davao City and Mindanao. The guided tour offered a deeper understanding of the region’s diverse communities, traditions, and historical milestones that have shaped its identity through the years.

This guided tour and cultural visit was made possible through the support and assistance of the Davao City Tourism Operations Office, highlighting the importance of collaboration in promoting local heritage and cultural appreciation.

The cultural visit emphasized the value of preserving local heritage and fostering a deeper appreciation of the region’s diverse cultural landscape. It also served as an opportunity to celebrate Mindanao’s unique stories and strengthen cultural understanding through meaningful engagement with its history and traditions.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: On 23 June 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Davao attended the 20th Ambassador’s Lecture Series organized by the Center for Linkages, Internationalization and Language Studies of Holy Cross of Davao College.

The lecture featured H. E. Saija Nurminen, Ambassador of Finland to the Philippines, who shared insights on “Trust, Joy, and Education in Finland.” Discussions highlighted the key principles of Finland’s education system, including equal access to quality education, equitable learning opportunities for all, and the role of education in promoting social equity and opportunity.

The event provided participants with a deeper understanding of Finland’s approach to education and encouraged meaningful discussions on the value of inclusive and accessible learning in shaping communities and future generations.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 23 June 2026, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Davao, together with H. E. Saija Nurminen, Ambassador of Finland to the Philippines; Mr. Antonio “Tony” Peralta, ECCP-SMBC Chairman and Honorary Consul of Finland to Mindanao; and Ms. Rie Realingo, ECCP Davao Branch Officer, paid a courtesy visit to the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and met with Secretary Leo Tereso Magno, Chairperson of MinDA.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged insights on opportunities for collaboration and discussed matters relevant to Mindanao’s development, investment landscape, and regional priorities.
