Our partner Pertame School is growing the next generation of fluent Pertame speakers.

Their Language Nest Immersion Playgroup brings children from birth to five years old into a space entirely surrounded by Pertame language, where mothers and Elders learn to speak language alongside their children.

By 2030, their goal is to build an independent, community-controlled school from kindergarten to Year 3, so children can remain in immersion education and maintain Pertame language as they grow older.

We are so honoured to stand alongside The Pertame School in this work.

Thanks to the , our Executive Director, Barbie-Lee Kirby, and Manager of Operations & Governance, Sapphire Dawson, joined more than 6,000 delegates at Women Deliver 2026.

Across the week, we engaged in powerful conversations on economic justice, climate resilience, and First Nations self-determination, connecting with global changemakers committed to shifting systems and power.

We left inspired by the strength of women leading change in communities across the world.

We visited our partner’s Nēwara Aboriginal Corporation for the launch of Nyambinga Kyuna, a block of land which was returned to Anaiwan people through a crowdfunding campaign.

Joshua Toole-Thurston (Wayilwan and Yuwaalaraay), CEO of Nēwara, shares with us the importance of language revitalisation work on-Country, and the partnership with First Nations Futures.

Capitalism depends on us believing in scarcity, and depends on us fighting with eachother to hoard resources.

In order to reduce inequality, we must radically change how we relate to each other - where we are in a practice of redistribution.

The moment we are in requires a generative solidarity - one that is collective and ongoing which dismantles colonial atrocities, addresses injustice, and builds movement towards collective liberation.

Driven by a family framework of care and collectivism, our partner’s are led by First Nations young people, for First Nations young people and their families.

Beginning as a volunteer-run organisation in 2016, they have built strong foundations and grown a village to respond to community members most in need, and invest into the next generation of leaders.

We recently had a yarn to Daniel Rosendale (Kuku Yalanji & Gugu Yimithir) about DIYDG’s values, intentions and impact, as well as the relationship that has been cultivated with First Nations Futures.

A final message about the WEALTHBACK campaign from Louis Mokak (Djugun), Co-Founder at First Nations Futures.

Over the past nine days, we’ve witnessed incredible support. When people come together around a shared commitment to justice, real change becomes possible.

It doesn’t end at January 26/Invasion Day.

We are continuing forward with momentum, and invite you to join the movement.
