The Institute for Living Tradition - Lanao del Sur is now calling for participants who want to undergo handicraft trainings such as:

☑ Baor Making,
☑ Langkit Making,
☑ Mamandiang Making, and
☑ Mat Weaving.

These trainings are
✔ 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦, and
✔ 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 who are interested.

For registration, you may send your 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, and 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 on our page or visit at our office located at the People's Park and Public Library in Bario Saber, Marawi City.

Lakub is from the Maranao of Lanao del Sur I Southern Philippines. It is made from a section of bamboo, cut after the node that serves as it's base. The surface of the bamboo is decorated with dyed pieces of paper the have different shapes both linear and curvlinear. The bamboo is cooked in boiling water to facilitate the transfer of the dye onto the bamboo. The Lakub is traditionally used as to***co container.
