This upcoming Memorial Day, stand with ALVA in paying tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
Print this ALVA tribute card, fold it into a tent as indicated, write in your location, and place it beside a USA flag as a visible sign of honor. Then take a photo and share it on social media (on or near Memorial Day - May 25th) to show that remembrance for the fallen lives in every corner of America. The card’s message—“From every corner of this nation, we honor the fallen”—will unite voices from communities across the country in one national tribute.
When you post, be sure to use and tag so we can highlight tributes from across the nation and remember our fallen heroes together.

This Women’s History Month, we honor the courage and sacrifice of Captain Jennifer Moreno, a Mexican-American Army nurse who served alongside elite Special Operations forces in Afghanistan.
In the latest episode of the Latino Valor series, we share the story of a healer who ran toward danger to save others—and who was killed in action while responding to wounded Rangers during a mission in Afghanistan.
Her legacy continues to inspire a new generation of women and men in uniform.
Watch the episode and help us remember an American hero.

Now that the U.S. armed forces are engaged in kinetic military operations in Iran, ALVA urges everyone to pray for the safety of our sons and daughters in uniform, for the civilian noncombatants in harms way, and for an eventual lasting peace.

ALVA joins the Coronado family in mourning the loss of Gil Coronado.
As stated by the San Antonio Express News, "Gil Coronado, who overcame a troubled youth in San Antonio to become the first Hispanic director of the Selective Service System and who helped bring National Hispanic Heritage Month into being, has died at age 89."
Gil Coronado was a retired Air Force Colonel and served with distinction both on active duty and in the community. ALVA was honored to present the Coronado family our first "Familia Award" in 2022.
Please join us as we extend our thoughts, prayers, and appreciation to the Coronado family.

This Black History Month, the American Latino Veterans Association (ALVA) honors the generations of Black Americans whose courage, sacrifice, and service have strengthened our nation and defended our freedom.

From the earliest days of our history to the service members serving today, Black men and women in uniform have met every call to duty with valor and resilience—often in the face of injustice at home while fighting for liberty abroad. Their legacy is woven into the very fabric of the United States and into the shared story of all who have worn the uniform.

We remember. We honor. We remain committed to ensuring their service and sacrifice are never forgotten.
