The Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society – East Tennessee Chapter is on a mission to expand our membership across all 33 counties of East Tennessee—and we need your help!

We’re looking for genealogists, historians, and community advocates who are passionate about preserving and sharing the rich stories of East Tennessee’s African American heritage. Ideally, we’d love members who have deep roots and local knowledge of their county, ready to represent their community and bring its history to life.

Our organization welcomes everyone—we do not discriminate based on race, color, s*x, age, religion, or any other protected class. What matters most is your dedication to celebrating and documenting East Tennessee’s diverse legacy.
