Today the Masumave Matriarch Inc. were able to deliver 200 bag packs of stationeries and books to 3 Early Learning Childhood schools in Masumave Village thanks to Bula , the founder of Turtle Bag Foundation, a foundation aimed at supporting early learners in rural PNG through the delivery of stationery supplies, books etc.

The children and teachers in Masumave and Arikiufa community were overwhelmed to have received their Turtle Bags and are beyond thankful for this opportunity.

We also acknowledge to her sponsors and supporters, Brian Bell Foundation, Airlines PNG and individual sponsors who made this possible.

We are also very grateful for the individuals who also donated supplies for this trip such as Rowena from AFP, thank you for the book donations. We were able to share those with Faniufa Sacred Heart Primary School as well.

Whihha Right Early Learning School , Arikiufa

Today Masumave Matriarch Inc. along with Trek 4 life - Gorokasuccessfully completed it's first Trekking collaboration from Masumave village ( K-Kona) to Unggai High School and back.

We had an absolute amazing turn out with 200+ women turning up for this walk. With our friends from Oxfam International, UOG and EHPHA who joined on this awesome experience to explore the Unggai range as well as network with our young girls and women in the community.

We will be embarking on more trekking activities with our partners at Trek 4 Life Goroka every first Sunday of every month as part of our efforts to promote healthy living among the young girls and women in our community.

In the month of July we will be visited by the Turtle Bag Foundation. This is one of the exciting community engagement activities that will be happening in our community and we look forward to this.

We have linked up with Cecilia Bula and her amazing team from TBF to assist three of our Early Childhood Learning Schools in Ward 1, including Siokat, Masumave and Arikiufa with books and stationery for both the students and the teachers at these schools.

We will be sharing profiles of these respective schools in the week for more information on how you can contribute to this great initiative, please inbox us or message Turtle Bag Foundation for more details.

Hey everyone!

So this coming Sunday, 2 July 2023, the Masumave Matriarch Inc. together with Trek 4 life - Goroka will be trekking in Masumave from K-Kona to Unggai High School as part of our pursuits for a healthy lifestyle in our community.

This is our first and hopefully one of many to come!

All young girls and women are invited to join us on this beautiful experience as we embark on working together to leading a healthy and happy lifestyle. We are thrilled to be able to partner with the team from Trek 4 Life - Goroka to help guide us on this journey.

One of the major benefits of trekking is that it improves your physical health immensely. Spending multiple hours on the trail, climbing around boulders, rock hopping and ascending hills gives your whole body a workout, improving your strength, agility and cardio fitness. This is such a great activity which we find will be beneficial for the young girls and women in our community as well as providing them with exposure to other networks and building their self confidence and self esteem.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
