GAC is the first major travel project by the Art Caravan Association. 12 international artists from all around the globe are traveling for 7 month through 10 countries across Africa sharing stories through Art The Great African Caravan is a confluence of artists from around the world, who will set off on an inspiring journey to explore the idea of a world without borders. Set for 2018, this advent

ure will take these artists from Cape Town to Cairo, as they discover the many ways in which their art transcends boundaries that fragment maps and minds alike. The Common Thread 2017, is the first step towards this journey - a series of public art events where artists come together to explore art as a tool of empowerment and social change, in an attempt to strengthen the public art movement across the globe.
