Make Change For Carter

Thanks to everyone who joined the Make Change For Carter team at the AFSP "Out of the Darkness" walk to prevent su***de -- coming up TOMORROW -- Saturday, October 4th! Bergen County's event this year has over 770 walkers on 88 teams and has raised over $110,000 -- and our team has raised over $1,200! Great job by everyone! Check-in for the walk starts at 9am; if we can gather before 9:45 we can take a team picture before the walk. There's a brief ceremony at 10am and the walk starts at 10:15. The walk is kid-friendly and dog-friendly, so feel free to bring them along -- just clean up after them! (The kids and the dogs!)

Set your GPS to "111 Challenger Rd., Ridgefield Park, NJ" -- the walk has moved to the Overpeck Park Amphitheater this year, so parking will be much easier!

Hi friends -- It's time once again to take a sad song and make it better by participating in the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) "Out Of The Darkness" walk to raise awareness for su***de prevention. The Make Change For Carter team is ready for our sixth straight "Out Of The Darkness Walk" on Saturday, October 4, 2025. In our last six events, the MCFC team has raised over $20,000 for the AFSP -- which is amazing. We hope to keep that going this October 4th.

This walk will benefit the AFSP in Carter's memory. Thousands of people across the country walk every year to support the AFSP's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by su***de. If you join our team and raise $150, you will get an AFSP tee-shirt.

Remembering Carter Murdock today.

Hello to all our Make Change For Carter friends! His birthday was last week (he would have been 27 if you can believe that), and I usually miss it by a week or two. He hasn't complained yet, so I'm just going to move forward. MCFC had a great year in 2024 -- we added a third BHS scholarship, we helped sponsor Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps Spring/Summer fundraiser and contributed $2,500, and we raised over $3,300 for the October ASFP "Out Of The Darkness Walk." This is all thanks to you!

So this is the part where I ask you to remember Carter birthday with a small donation to Make Change For Carter! As a thank you I've put together a little video commemorating the passing of my 2002 Honda Odyssey -- but I think you'll appreciate the surprise cameo about halfway through!
