Bidding opens to everyone, wherever you are. You don't have to be at the beach to get in on it. We're a 501(c)(3), so every winner gets a receipt for their taxes — and every dollar goes to treatment for people who can't afford it.

Remember the day Alex Gray came down.

He showed up for our celebration surf day to support us and give the kids some love — and those kids were absolutely on cloud nine. Quality time with a guy who's surfed some of the heaviest water on earth, and he gave every one of them his full attention.

You can see it on their faces.

That's the whole spirit of South Bay Legends right there. People showing up for each other.

The 5th Annual Memorial Free Surf Contest is Sept 27 at El Porto, 42nd Street. Free to enter, divisions for every age, and our silent auction funds treatment for veterans, people fighting addiction and alcoholism, and people living with brain and emotional trauma.

That time of year again to celebrate our loved ones!!!

Free Charity Surf Contest Sunday, September 27. El Porto, 42nd Street.

The 5th Annual South Bay Legends Memorial Free Surf Contest is back. No entry fee, no prize money, no reason not to paddle out. Just a day on the sand with the people who make this place what it is.

We surf for the friends we lost too early. And every dollar raised goes toward treatment for people who can't afford to get help on their own.

All ages. All boards. Bring your family, bring a chair, bring somebody who needs a good day. And theres an open division where the kids can take on us old guys.

Greg’s passion for the ocean was unmatched. As a professional surfer and master storyteller behind the camera, he helped shape the way the world experiences surfing. More than that, he inspired generations of surfers with his energy, creativity, and commitment to the sport.

Beyond the waves, Greg was a devoted father and a guiding light to so many of us. His positive spirit, generosity, and love for the community will forever be remembered.
