Beyond the Gatekeepers Update
Friends, due to scheduling, Beyond the Gatekeepers will not show tonight. We look forward to resuming our conversations next Wednesday at 8:00 PM (ET) with a very special guest, Dr. Anthony B. Pinn.
Dr. Pinn is the Agnes Cullen Arnold Distinguished Professor of Humanities and Professor of Religion at Rice University, one of the nation’s leading scholars in religion, Black humanism, and African American religious thought. He is the author of numerous books and a respected voice on the intersections of faith, culture, ethics, and justice.
Our conversation will center on his book, My Jams: Reflections on the Relationship Between Music and Religion, exploring how music shapes spiritual imagination, identity, memory, and meaning. Together, we will examine the powerful ways soundtracks, songs, and cultural rhythms inform our understanding of faith, liberation, and the human experience.
Join Bishop Yvette A. Flunder and me for what promises to be a rich and thought-provoking dialogue.
