Crazy Muley Ultra 2024 Race Week email went out. But here it is just in case your spam folder makes it disappear.
It's race week! As we finish marking your trail I thought I would send out an email to answer some of the questions coming in.
Race start is at 0800 for both distances. Edgerton Oasis Hotel/Sand Dunes Liquor Store parking lot. Big start/finish arch can't miss it. Package pickup is 5-7pm Friday at my place (1026-20 St Cres, Wainwright, AB). I will have for sale (cheap) old WR swag if interested in a hat, f***y pack or older hoodie. If you can make another time let me know and I will see what I can do. Race day package pickup will be 0700-745. Please try to get race package Friday if not be there early. Each racer will get their bib, hoodie, b**r and a limited amount of hammer flasks (so come early).
Volunteer email went out. Get ahold of me if any questions.
Oasis Hotel will be open all day for food and drinks. Stay around and enjoy the small town. They will have showers available for after the race and flush toilets. Portapotties will be at the start/finish and NEW this year at Aid Station #1 (km 16 for both distances).
50Km racers will be able to have a drop bag at Aid Station #2 (27km/32km). Be prepared to wait for bag as it will come after AS #2 is closed. See Jen Golden or ask a volunteer for her.
Awards will be top 3 Female/Male in each distance. NEW this year we will have a "Middle of the Herd" award to the middle of the race results (number will be decided on race entries Friday). New this year we will have a "Dead Bucking Last" award for the racer that is last in each distance. We celebrate all our racers at Wainwright Runners.
The whole course is marked in Wainwright Runner pin flags. Pink for the whole 50Km and shared 50K/25K parts. Blue for the only 25Km section. All pin flags on your right (except final 2km where you run back on route). Big red arrows for major turns. There should be a flag every few minutes.
The weather looks great. The course looks amazing. Enjoy the views and welcome to our very unique playground.

Riverdale XC Ski Trails have been groomed……Classic and skate. Trails are good to excellent on the golf course. The initial 1/3 of the skate track is narrow, however the rest of the trail opens. The trail down to the club house is not good. Please use the snow to negotiate your way down. A big shout out to Bob Stevens! Success with his first attempt at grooming the trails. Enjoy!
