Kesem at Denison University To support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community.

Kesem is a diverse community led by passionate and empathetic college students working to ensure that children facing the challenges of a parent’s cancer have space, connection, and support to rediscover the joys of childhood. Our mission is to support children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem at Denison University

was founded in 2019 and supports children in the Licking County community by providing Camp Kesem, a free week-long summer camp experience, and year-round Through and Beyond support services. Our chapter is operated by 15 student volunteers and serves 20 campers ages 6-18 per year. Kesem operates at more than 130 chapters coast-to-coast. Its programs and services are all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

We are so honored to have worked with The Granville Community Foundation this past year to help make sure our camp was as amazing as possible!

Later this week, GCF will recognize the organizations whose projects were selected as 2025 GCF Grant Recipients at our annual Community Grant Celebration & Reception. Each of these programs strengthen and support our community in unique ways, and we can't wait to celebrate them!
