We cannot begin to express how thrilled we were to be able to attend another Flag Raising Ceremony in our city!

Our hearts were so filled to witness the level of patriotism as Guyana celebrated her 60th anniversary of independence. Huge kudos to the organisers Guyana Independence Flag Raising Planning Committee - Newark and all those who participated.

We are definitely looking forward to gathering with our Guyanese community to commemorate the 60th Anniversary and of Independence of our homeland Guyana! We hope that all Guyanese and friends of Guyana will come out to the Flag Raising Ceremony. Although we are outside of Guyana, Guyana is very much inside of us!

Thank you Guyana Independence Flag Raising Planning Committee - Newark and all organisers for keeping this meaningful tradition alive.

Today we join our Guyanese community in wishing our nation and our people a happy 60th Anniversary of Independence! May we remember the wisdom, foresight and sacrifices of our founding leaders to bring us independence.
