Social Juice

Social Juice Social Juice is a project initiated by Zero Waste Aberdeen.

Starting with a focus on using apples past their best and therefore destined as waste, we now include pears and other fruits to widen the range of juices / products available for the community.

💫Next Site maintenance session on Saturday 1st of August. 10am-2pm 🪏

💥We aim to held sessions on every first Saturday and third Sunday of the month 10-2pm in the coming month.

👉Planned tasks for the next session:
- Continuing to remove the soil heap and move to the raised beds
- Weeding raised beds and add compost
- Litter picking
- other bibs and bobs depending on the turnout

Strimmers are welcome, other tools & refreshments will be provided.

👉 Don't forget, we will have our next garden tidy session next Sunday (19th of July) 10-1pm (for the keen ones until 2pm).

We will continue to remove the weeds and move the compost mould to the raised beds.

There are still stones to be removed and possibly grass cutting.

💫 Come and join us! We offer good company, a bit of workout and you might even learn some new skills 🪏

👉If you want to get in shape over the summer, want to have a good time while making a place more beautiful come along to help us making the St Fittick's Edible Garden a more appealing place for the community to use.

We are planning fortnightly sessions over the summer on alternate weekend days as follows:
19th of July (Sunday) 10-1pm
1st of August (Saturday) 10-1pm
16th of August (Sunday) 10-1pm

👉The main focus is on maintenance and improvements of the enjoyment of the place.

💫22nd of August music in the garden - details coming soon

We are mainly working on the shed and grounds for now. Please feel free to come along at any of the sessions.

Refreshments will be available.
Please wear suitable clothing - and don't forget your sun protection!

- relocating outdoor furniture
- creating base for the greenhouse & toolshed

💫Other jobs depending on turnout:
- tidy existing shed and create an inventory
- weeding raised beds+ adding topsoil and compost
- sowing wildflower seeds
- renewing composting bays
- weeding footpath and flower beds

We have limited equipment available so if you have tools and equipment you are welcome to bring along.

Please wear adequate clothes and don't forget your suncream 🌤️

Please note there are no toilets on site, but Nigg Bay Golf Club kindly allowed to use their facilities.
