Meet Our Members: Kgoshigadi Mashishimale Shayi FoundationMmetla Shapo la Tlala
We proudly celebrate one of our dedicated members, Mohlago Malobane, owner of Mmamotha Mathubatse Trading, a talented and qualified fashion designer whose work has touched the lives of many across Limpopo and beyond.
Over the years, Mohlago has dressed numerous distinguished leaders and dignitaries, including Kgoshigadi Moshibutjana Audrey Shayi of Mashishimale, Kgoshigadi Tshangwane Malatji of Makhushane, Kgoshigadi Sekgopo, Kgoshigadi Mametja, Kgoshigadi Mamaila, and many other Makgoši from the Limpopo House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders. Her clientele also includes the Mayor of Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality, Merriam Malatji; the Chief Whips of Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Didodo Rapatsa and Maruleng Municipality officials , and others; Princess Mapula Malatji, Prince Joseph Malatji, members of the Ba-Shayi Ditlou Traditional Council and Royal Family, Princess Muteni Eulenda Shayi, Prince Mabine Shayi, Prince Makanaga Shayi, Mopani District’s First Lady Vinolia Shayi, Princess Pulane Shayi, brides and grooms, as well as many other respected community leaders and professionals.
Her expertise extends beyond traditional attire. Through Mmamotha Mathubatse Trading, she designs school uniforms, staff uniforms, and pool bed covers for Mashishimale Game Lodge. Her clients include Access Bank Manager Lydia Seane, Refilwe Gillette Pilusa, CEO of Fifi’s Magical Treats, and many others who continue to trust her creativity, quality, and professionalism.
Beyond her business accomplishments, Mohlago has a heart for service. In her spare time, she designs matric farewell gowns, which she donates to Grade 12 learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. Her generosity and compassion have brought hope, dignity, and confidence to many young people and their families.
As a committed member of the Kgoshigadi Mashishimale Shayi Foundation, Mohlago has contributed to numerous community development initiatives. These include the construction of a toilet for a vulnerable household in Tshubje Village following a tragic incident in which two young children lost their lives when a pit intended for a toilet collapsed after heavy rains. She has also participated in the Phalaborwa Career Expo organized by the Foundation, the donation of roll-on deodorants to learners at Maphokwane High School, the construction of houses for families in need, the distribution of food parcels, the annual Kgoshigadi Shayi Soccer and Netball Tournament, and many other impactful projects that continue to uplift our communities.
Today, we also celebrate the continued growth and success of Mmamotha Mathubatse Trading, a business that has proudly dressed South African dignitaries attending the Mashishimale Heritage Day Celebration, the State of the District Address (SODA), the State of the Province Address (SOPA), the State of the Municipality Address (SOMA), and official openings of the Limpopo House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders, among many other prestigious events.
Mohlago continues to open both her heart and her wallet giving back to the community , demonstrating that true success is measured not only by personal achievement but also by the positive impact one makes in the lives of others.
