🥂🐾 WE ARE JUST DAYS AWAY FROM CELEBRATING FIVE YEARS OF THE GOOD LIFE RESCUE! 🐾🥂

And you guys… WE ARE SO EXCITED! 😍

Tonight, we made a trip out to our venue to get a game plan together for Sunday, and let me tell you… THIS PLACE WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF! 🤯❤️

The building itself is absolutely STUNNING, but somehow, the views surrounding it are even better!

The bluffs, the rolling prairie, and the wide-open skies of Central Nebraska are simply BREATHTAKING! 🌾❤️

There is just something about the natural beauty of Nebraska that never gets old, and this place captures it perfectly! We might be a little biased, but we think there’s no prettier place than the rolling prairies of Central Nebraska! 😍

We truly couldn’t have picked a more beautiful place to celebrate five years of saving lives with the people who helped make it all possible!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Prairie Plains Resource Institute and Amy for so graciously hosting us! We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to celebrate in such an incredible space!

And seriously… IF YOU AREN’T COMING FOR US, COME FOR THE VENUE! 😂❤️

💗🐾 THANKFUL THURSDAY: THE QUIET STRENGTH BEHIND THE GOOD LIFE RESCUE — AMY! 🐾💗

Some of the biggest hearts in rescue don't always belong to the loudest voices in the room. Sometimes, they're the ones quietly working behind the scenes, making sure everything gets done, every detail is handled, and every animal has a chance at a better life. ❤️

And that brings us to another very special person who helped make The Good Life Rescue what it is today...

Our co-founder and director, AMY! 🥹💕

Amy is one of the quieter, but equally influential, driving forces behind our mission. She's been part of the foundation of The Good Life Rescue from the very beginning, helping turn a shared passion for animals into the organization we've become.

And while the adorable adoption photos, happy endings, and heartwarming reunions are often what people see, there's an entire world of work happening behind the scenes.

And Amy is right in the thick of it! 🐾

📋 Adoption applications, paperwork, and helping families through the adoption process.

🏡 Foster coordination, home checks, and helping animals make their way into safe, loving homes.

🚗 Transporting animals and helping coordinate the many moving pieces of rescue.

🐶 Fostering, volunteering, and opening her own heart and home to animals in need.

📞 Networking, coordinating intakes, answering questions, and keeping communication flowing.

🎉 Supporting events, donating, and stepping in wherever another set of hands is needed.

❤️ And tackling the countless administrative responsibilities that aren't particularly glamorous, but are absolutely essential to keeping a nonprofit running.

Have you adopted or fostered through The Good Life Rescue?

There's a pretty good chance Amy has been one of the people helping you navigate the process, answering questions, coordinating details, or making sure everything was ready for your new family member!

And if you've ever wondered how much work happens between “We want to help this dog” and “This dog is finally home,” well... Amy knows! 😂❤️

Because rescue isn't just cuddling puppies and celebrating adoptions.

It's paperwork. Phone calls. Scheduling. Transportation. Coordinating. Problem-solving. And a thousand little details that most people never see.

It's the behind-the-scenes work that makes those happy endings possible.

And somehow, Amy still finds room in her heart for just one more. 🥹

Now, we would be doing Amy a disservice if we didn't mention her particular weakness...

The mamas. The misfits. And pretty much anything her husband, Irwin, might let her sneak home! 🤭🐾

We suspect Irwin has learned that being married to someone with a rescue heart comes with a certain amount of negotiation.

Amy: “Soooo... I have a question.”

Irwin: “How many legs does this question have?” 🤣❤️

But that's Amy.

Someone who sees the animals who need a little extra love, the ones who might be overlooked, and the ones who deserve somebody willing to give them a chance.

She's not always the person standing in the spotlight, but her fingerprints are on so many of the lives we've changed.

Every adoption she helps finalize.

Every foster family she supports.

Every animal she transports.

Every hour she gives to the less glamorous side of rescue.

Every little detail she handles so the rest of the mission can keep moving forward.

It all matters. ❤️

Thank you for the countless hours, the compassion, the dedication, the patience, and the work that so often happens without an audience.

Thank you for being a steady presence, a problem-solver, a voice for animals who cannot speak for themselves, and one of the essential pillars holding our rescue together.

And thank you, Irwin, for sharing her with the rescue world... and occasionally making room for another four-legged houseguest! 🤣🐾

These pups are residents at the Fairbury pound and got lucky enough to travel to Kansas yesterday to get altered ✂️

They would love a way out of the dog pound 🥰

These kiddos haven’t been in a home for sometime, and would need some grace and time to decompress. We always recommend meet and greets with dogs and humans - to help ensure it’s a good fit 🧩

🦊🐇 SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW THIS LITTLE GUY IS STILL SINGLE?! 😭❤️

Fluke looks like a puppy. He plays like a puppy. He bounces around like a bunny, looks suspiciously like a fox, and has enough personality packed into that adorable little body to keep you smiling for days!

Plot twist? He's not actually a puppy! 🤣

At an estimated 3–6 years old, Fluke is a grown-up gentleman who apparently missed the memo about acting his age.

And we're not complaining! ❤️

He's silly, spry, affectionate, loves kids, and has a contagious zest for life.

So HOW has this adorable little fox-bunny-dog been so overlooked?! 🥺

Let's review his qualifications, shall we?

🦊 Appearance: Approximately 87% fox, 13% mysterious woodland creature.

🐇 Transportation: Occasionally travels by bunny hops. Ears may bounce during takeoff.

💨 Athletic abilities: Zoomies. Excellent zoomies.

😊 Personality: Happy, silly, spry, and equipped with a smile that could brighten the gloomiest day.

❤️ Favorite humans: KIDS! This little guy absolutely adores them!

🍗 Motivation: Snacks. Willing to negotiate terms and conditions for appropriate compensation.

💎 Current status: Hidden gem. Criminally overlooked. Accepting applications.

Now, let's discuss the one thing Fluke would prefer we leave off his résumé...

KENNELS. 😂❌

Fluke would like to formally decline participation in traditional kennel accommodations.

And while we don't know what his life looked like before coming into rescue, we do know that being kenneled is something he struggles with.

But here's the important part!

👏 When Fluke has his own baby-gated area with access to a doggie door, he keeps his space clean and takes himself outside!

That's right! Our little woodland creature has been showing us that he CAN be successful when he's given an environment that works for him.

Does he still have things to learn? Absolutely!

Will his future family need to be patient, flexible, and willing to continue helping him develop those skills? You bet!

But a dog doesn't have to fit into one particular management setup to be a wonderful companion. ❤️

He's not asking for perfection.

He's not asking for a mansion.

He's not even asking for his own personal forest, although we suspect he'd have some opinions about that. 🤣🌲

He's just looking for someone who will appreciate his quirky little personality, understand his needs, and give him the opportunity to finally settle into a home of his own.

And yet...

HARDLY ANY INTEREST. 💔

We know his family has to be out there. Maybe they just haven't seen those bouncing ears, that curled tail, or his impossibly happy little face yet.

So we're asking you to help us change that.

🐾❤️ MEET PIBBLE — HE MADE IT OUT, BUT NOW HE NEEDS SOMEWHERE TO GO! ❤️🐾

This handsome little dude’s time was UP at the shelter. 💔

Pibble and his siblings were growing up… and growing OUT of their shared kennel space.

With limited space at the shelter, there was no room to separate them, and unfortunately, littermate syndrome started rearing its ugly head.

Let’s just say the siblings were getting pretty darn tired of each other. 😅

Tensions were rising, space was running out, and some tough decisions had to be made.

Pibble needed a rescue tag to make it out alive.

And that’s where we came in. ❤️

Here’s the problem…

With the urgency of his situation, scheduling conflicts, and time constraints, we stepped up without having a solid plan in place.

Now we need someone to step up for HIM.

🏡 PIBBLE NEEDS A FOSTER HOME!

🐾 He’s been dog friendly! He’s just had enough of living on top of his siblings. And honestly, can you blame the guy? 😂

🐾 He has NOT been tested with cats.

🐾 As with any new dog, we always recommend feeding separately or in a kennel while everyone settles in. Dogs coming from stressful environments need time to learn that food is plentiful, resources are safe, and nobody is going to take their dinner.

🐾 A little patience, structure, and decompression can go a LONG way!

Pibble doesn’t need anything fancy.

He needs a safe place to land, a little breathing room, and someone willing to give him a chance.

We couldn’t leave him behind knowing what his fate could be. But we can’t do this without foster homes willing to open their doors.

We said YES to saving his life.

Can someone say YES to giving him a place to land? 🥹❤️
