UNIDO’s GEF-funded Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) was showcased at a workshop led by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). During the event, three pioneering startups demonstrated how they are transforming materials, energy and circular economy solutions:
🌱 Myconom with its mycelium-based materials
💡 Ion Membranes with its work in green energy
☕ Wastespresso with its waste-to-value approach in coffee production.
Through site visits organized by GEF Operational Focal Points (OFPs), with the support of UNIDO and the Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), as well as through dedicated presentations, participants saw how GEF-funded support translates into tangible results. The programme helps entrepreneurs scale low-carbon solutions in industrial development and embeds innovation support within local ecosystems.
