Storth Entertainers Storth Entertainers is an amateur dramatics society in the village of Storth. We stage pantomimes, musicals and plays and always welcome new members!

Storth Entertainers; The Theatre on The Bay

Do you remember the Storth Village School Centenary and in particular the Old Time Music Hall arranged as part of the celebrations? That event was the start of ‘The Entertainers’, constituted as a society in 1976. A group of people under the Chairmanship of Edward Walker, the then landlord of ‘The Ship’, got together and performed two further reviews fo

llowed by the very first musical ’Free As Air’. Diana Hannaford was our first Musical Director and our first Stage Manager was Gerry Maguire. Wood was donated by Broomby’s, curtains, drops and footlights were bought from a theatrical auction in Blackpool and we discovered an Aladdin’s cave of lighting in the cellar of Milnthorpe Vicarage! The Society has been based at Storth Village Hall throughout its existence and is now recognised as one of the leading societies in the area. The Society does not confine itself just to musicals of course and has built up a reputation over the years for its pantomimes and summer plays and in recent years has invested heavily in new equipment with tiered seating and a computerised lighting board. In 2003, the Society introduced their junior section; the aptly named ‘Kids on The Bay’, performing Willie Russell’s ‘Our Day Out’. This proved to be a huge success and productions have since included the likes of ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’, ‘Bugsy Malone’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’. After 38 years the Society is still very active, and the overall membership is strong, with a number of very talented young members involved to help guarantee its future. After the huge success of our recent pantomime, we’re excited about what’s next… but we need a little help to make it happen.

Behind every show is a brilliant team working hard backstage — and right now, that team is getting smaller. To keep bringing productions to life, we’d love some new faces to join us.

Whether you fancy:
🎭 Stepping into the spotlight
🎨 Helping with props or costumes
🎬 Supporting backstage

…there’s a place for you! No experience needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.

We don’t have our next show planned just yet, but that’s where you come in. The more interest we have, the more we can do.

And that’s a wrap on Sleeping Beauty! 👑✨

What an incredible run we’ve had. Four fantastic shows, brilliant audiences, and a truly amazing cast and crew who gave it their all from start to finish. From the laughs and boos to the cheers and applause, every moment has been magical.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support us – your energy and enthusiasm make it all worthwhile. And to our wonderful cast, backstage team, chaperones, volunteers and everyone who helped bring the show to life… we couldn’t do it without you.

Now for some well-earned rest (until the next show, of course! 😉).

What a fantastic afternoon with our wonderful audience – thank you for bringing so much energy and laughter!

We’re so proud of our fabulous cast and everyone working behind the scenes who make the magic happen. It’s been brilliant seeing the stage come alive again today.

Now we’ve just got one more show to go tonight… and we’re ready to give it everything we’ve got for a final performance!

Well… that was another fantastic night of Sleeping Beauty… oh yes it was! 🎭

A huge thank you to our brilliant audience for all the cheers, boos, laughs and panto spirit – you made it such a fun night for everyone on stage and behind the scenes. We love hearing you join in!

Two shows down and now we’re heading into our final two performances tomorrow. If tonight is anything to go by, they’re going to be amazing!

If you’re coming along tomorrow, get your voices ready… we’ll need some loud boos for the baddie and plenty of cheers for the goodies!

Well… what a fantastic opening night! 🎭✨

A huge thank you to our wonderful audience for joining us for our first performance of Sleeping Beauty. Your laughter, cheers and support was greatly appreciated by everyone.

Months of rehearsals, set building, costumes, music and teamwork all came together tonight, and we couldn’t do it without the incredible effort of our cast, crew and volunteers. Thank you to everyone involved!

If tonight was anything to go by, the rest of the run is going to be brilliant! We can’t wait to see you all 🥳🥳

Final dress rehearsal… DONE! 🎭

After weeks of rehearsals, dancing, singing, costume changes and the occasional moment of chaos, our cast have made it through the final run of Sleeping Beauty — and tomorrow night the curtain finally rises!

We are so excited to welcome our audiences and share the magic, laughter and classic panto fun with you all.

So warm up those voices, get ready to cheer the heroes and boo the villains…
