It has been good to have David with us for a week. He has updated some of the systems in the Community Centre and also drove into Ukraine with us for 5 days.
We had 2 days in Tatariv, joining with the families from Kherson on their retreat. It was lovely to have fun in the snow with them, share meals, craft activities and listen to how they are coping.
On Saturday we drove 7 hours to Zhytomyr area. On Sunday morning a 2 hour drive to Ivankiv. It was wonderful to see our friend Eugene and family and attend Christian Hope church.
This village is 25km from Chornobyl exclusion zone and was an entry point for tanks in February 2022. One elderly lady hugged me with tears in her eyes, saying that we were the first foreign visitors to the church in the past four years.
The Egg is a sculpture, remembering the disaster of 1986 and contains time capsules to be opened in 3000.
On Sunday afternoon we drove into Kyiv centre, staying there for the night and meeting up with some of David's Ukrainian friends.
The night in Kyiv was quiet! Monday was a 10 hour journey back to Romania, the roads fairly clear, with minimum -26.5C recorded.
