In September we spent a day speaking about the work of Hands of Hope to year 12 students. This evening I will be attending the One World Centre charity challenge final. Where a team from Ramsey Grammar School is representing Hands of Hope. The team have worked very hard and communicated well with us, in our eyes they deserve to win.

Spring Newsletter - Spring is a season of preparation and that has been true for us this year...

Spring is a season of preparation, and that’s been true for us this year.   At the centre, decorating is now complete, creating a fresh and welcoming space. Eduard has been working in the orchards—pruning trees, repairing fences, and preparing for the months ahead. While the timing of the last ...

Today marks the fourth anniversary of the invasion to Ukraine. Many of our friends have been sharing pictures of how it was before February 2022 comparing to how it was then to now.
These are from our friends in Kherson, many activities took place in this library building. Now for those who are still in Kherson the activities take place in a converted cellar.

Please continue to pray for Ukraine 🙏

Craft supplies that we took to Ukraine earlier this month being enjoyed by our friends in Ivano Frankivski.

They are coping, sometimes with power only for a few hours a day. No power can also mean no central heating, no water, no internet, and yet they are wonderful people who will always find something to be thankful for.

It has been good to have David with us for a week. He has updated some of the systems in the Community Centre and also drove into Ukraine with us for 5 days.
We had 2 days in Tatariv, joining with the families from Kherson on their retreat. It was lovely to have fun in the snow with them, share meals, craft activities and listen to how they are coping.

On Saturday we drove 7 hours to Zhytomyr area. On Sunday morning a 2 hour drive to Ivankiv. It was wonderful to see our friend Eugene and family and attend Christian Hope church.
This village is 25km from Chornobyl exclusion zone and was an entry point for tanks in February 2022. One elderly lady hugged me with tears in her eyes, saying that we were the first foreign visitors to the church in the past four years.
The Egg is a sculpture, remembering the disaster of 1986 and contains time capsules to be opened in 3000.
On Sunday afternoon we drove into Kyiv centre, staying there for the night and meeting up with some of David's Ukrainian friends.
The night in Kyiv was quiet! Monday was a 10 hour journey back to Romania, the roads fairly clear, with minimum -26.5C recorded.

Out today to visit some friends who we support. On days like this we miss the 4x4 Pajero. We left the caddy on the main road and walked down the hill.

Memory photos from January 2010, when we were delivering with friends from a partner charity.

We are so happy to be back in Ukraine with our church family here. This is our 47th crossing into Ukraine since February 2022. It had been -23C overnight, so a chilly start and -19 as we crossed the border at 9am. But a very warm welcome from all our friends here. Church has power at the moment, but a small generator is on standby. A church alive is worth the drive.

We arrived back in our Romanian home on Wednesday afternoon. We are thankful for our wood stove which soon got the house warm. 5pm and -15C outside!
We know that many folks will be struggling with the extreme temperatures.

Please keep our friends in Ukraine in your prayers. Damaged infrastructure, means regular power cuts, no electricity, no central heating.
Our friends in Odesa said that their power is only on for around 4 hours a day!
