Friends of District Hospital are delighted to share with you that the hospital now has a new Bariatric bed, know as a “cuddle bed” as it sleeps for two people. This is a first for Carlow and for the District Hospital, at a total cost of just over €20,000. Bought equally between the Friends of District Hospital and Carlow County Hospice. Thank you people of Carlow 👏🏻👏🏻

The Friends of the District Hospital wish to express its deepest sympathy to the family of Dixie Doyle who very sadly died on Sunday night. Dixie for many years on Christmas morning was our Santa Clause. He met all the patients in the hospital with his great humour and wit. We were hoping to have him back this year, but sadly it is not to be. Rest easy Dixie, you will always be our unique Santa 🎅🏻
