Kosovo scientists Halil B. Ibrahimi and Linda Grapci-Kotori together with Astrit Bilalli and Donard Geci have just published a critical report on the impact of the HHPs in Sharr. Their work is yet another strong confirmation that these constructions have happened without respect for nature or the rivers, to say the least.

The construction of four hydropower plants in Sharr has affected gravely not just the streams like 🏞 Durlov Potok / Përrocka e Durlës, Bllateshtica / Blateštica, Kaluđerka / Kalugjerka and Berevci /
Berevački but also the flora and fauna that depends on them.

Professor Halil Ibrahimi & Professor Linda Grapci Kotori will talk on Saturday about the impact of such construction on the biodiversity of Sharr.

So far, three lawsuits📃against hydropower plants have been filed in Kosovo, one of them HPP Brezovica, filled in February 2021.
On Saturday, Donika Çeta & Rinon Arifi will tell us more about what has happened since then and give perspective on the next steps.
