Five days before launching the prepared plan to attack the Jashari neighborhood and Legendary Commander Adam Jashari, Serbian forces clashed with KLA soldiers in the place called "Six Oaks," where Rexhep Rexhepi, Beqir Rexhepi, Muhamet Gjeli and Naser Gjeli were martyred.

Serbian forces, after losing in soldiers and artillery they suffered, retaliated by killing women, children and elderly in Likoshan and Qirez, sparing not even the pregnant woman.

This massacre was not just a crime, it was a clear signal to all Albanians that the enemy will not stop, with his aims to destroy us.
It was the first proof of genocide that Serbia had launched in Kosovo. It was the first evidence of what Milosheviqi was able to do if he didn't stop.

Qirezi and Likoshani were just the beginning. After them, the killings and massacres continued in Abri, Izbica, Rezale, Reçak, Studies, Dubrava, Krusha Madhe and many other places. But our people were not broken. Instead, he rose stronger in our fight for freedom.

28 years on, we remember with pain, but also with pride those who fell to never die, becoming the flowers of freedom and the cornerstone of the state we enjoy today.

Për ata që e kanë harruar Gjeneralin Helmut Harff nga trupat komando të ushtrisë gjermane…
Kur hyri ne kufirin qe dante Shqiperin ne mes,ai pyeti një komandant lokal i cili sapo e kishte humbur luftën:
Gjenerali Harff:
“Sa kohë të duhet të largohesh nga këtu?”
Komandanti:
“Gjashtë orë.”
Gjenerali Harff:
“I ke 30 minuta.”
Komandanti nisi sërish me shpjegime e justifikime…
Gjenerali Harff shikoi orën dhe tha qetë:
“Tani të kanë mbetur edhe 28 minuta.”
