Day three of our Regional Youth Camp was full of energy and thoughtful exchange. Participants looked at collective trauma and how it shapes peace work, while also learning about conflict mapping and conflict resolution methods.

In interactive sessions, they considered the difference between reacting and reflecting, and practiced grounding techniques to build personal awareness and interpersonal understanding.

Regional Youth Exchange 2026 – “Bridging Minds, Building Peace”

Today we officially opened the exchange with an introductory session, where participants met each other, shared expectations and began building connections in an open atmosphere. đŸ€

Following the opening activities, participants joined a group hike, creating space for informal conversations, teamwork and trust-building among young people from different backgrounds, setting the tone for learning and connection in the days ahead. đŸ„ŸđŸŒČ

The Regional Youth Exchange 2026 – “Bridging Minds, Building Peace” is implemented by Pro Peace in partnership with the Organized Youth Association

is a blog series where people from Kosovo and beyond write about what they remember — and where those memories take them. The series reminds us that remembering the past is never passive, neutral or fixed. What can seem distant or monumental is, in fact, built from the “small” stories we carry and tell in our own words.

Explore the full collection.

We all carry memory. Some memories steady us. Others unsettle us. Some we inherit, some we create, some we re-discover by accident. What we share here begins from a simple truth: that memory lives differently in each of us.‹By writing, we give shape to what might otherwise remain unspoken; by shari...

A year ago, curator, researcher and writer ArbĂ«r Qerka-Gashi contributed to the 25th edition of Balkan Perspectives with an article exposing exclusionary, racist and patronizing portrayals of Albanian and Roma communities in Yugoslav cinema. The piece was part of Qerka-Gashi’s broader inquiry into how arts, language and culture can either depict reality or manufacture division. That inquiry continued with a dedicated event at Kino Armata earlier this year, and now with a one‑on‑one article published by Kosovo 2.0.

Revisit “Beyond the frame: Kosovo and Albanian representations in Yugoslav cinema”: https://dwp-balkan.org/beyond-the-frame-kosovo-and-albanian-representations-in-yugoslav-cinema/

Arbër Qerka-Gashi discusses the representation and marginalization of Albanian and Roma communities in Yugoslav cinema.

How are missing persons remembered, politicized, and spoken about in Kosovo today?

To mark the National Day of Missing Persons, Pro Peace Kosovo and Kosovo 2.0 organized a public discussion exploring the narratives, silences, and struggles surrounding missing persons in post-war Kosovo.

Moderated by Dafina Halili, KOSOVO 2.0 journalist, the discussion brought together panelists Dr. Vjollca Krasniqi, Serbeze Haxhiaj, Isak Skenderi, and Natasha Bozilovic to reflect on memory, recognition, and the politics of victimhood.

The event is financially supported through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

“Being a child of the diaspora means becoming many things at once, all of them packed into a single body — how can we possibly fit them all in?” In his blog, GĂ«zim Qadraku reflects on the bind of growing up between two worlds — Albanian at home, Italian outside — and the weight of longing that shaped his family’s migrations.

His words trace the paradox of belonging to more than one place, more than one story, and the fog of identity that follows. To be children of the is to live privilege and dislocation side by side, identity pressed into boxes that never quite fit. Yet perhaps
the puzzle of identity is not theirs alone.

Read GĂ«zim’s story: why, and how, “one needs a home.”

The first country my father was supposed to emigrate to was Germany. A cousin of his had promised to help him find work and get the necessary papers. Everything was set. A few days later, though, someone in his cousin’s family died; he went back to live in Kosovo, and the whole plan fell through.A...
