Yesterday, representatives from SENESE attended the NGO Talanoa Event with Her Excellency the Honourable Governor-General of Australia, Sam Mostyn AC. SENESE was pleased to present its core inclusive education services and comprehensive community initiatives, with particular emphasis on audiology and hearing services, to Her Excellency the Governor-General. In return, the Governor-General provided constructive guidance regarding our service delivery models, emphasizing strategic collaboration with the Tautua program to enhance sustainable funding pathways. We express gratitude and sincere thank you to the Australian High Commission and the Tautua team for inviting SENESE to be a part of this incredibly important event. We are truly honoured. SENESE Staff completed a three-day MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) workshop, focusing on the Theory of Change which aims to capture stories that reflect positive changes as a result of the services they provide. Thanks to Australian High Commission, Samoa through Tautua Program especially Ms. Stephanie Walters for facilitating this very important workshop. In moving forward, staff are encouraged to carry our their work with a more positive approach.

We are proud to report on the successful completion of our Teacher and Teacher Aide Training. Over two days, representatives from schools across Samoa came together under the guidance of New Zealand Inclusive Education Specialist Jan Kennington to learn, share, and strengthen inclusive practices in the classroom. The training highlighted practical strategies to support children with diverse learning needs, with a focus on inclusivity. We extend our sincere thanks to our valued partners for their active participation, engagement, and support. Senese Inclusive Education Support Services is in Savai'i this week!

They will be delivering community hearing screenings across the island from 23-27 March, following successful sessions in Upolu👂🏽💙. This week, screenings will be at the following locations:

📍 Monday: Vailoa Palauli Catholic Hall
📍 Tuesday: Sala’ilua Catholic Hall
📍 Wednesday: Sataua Catholic Hall
📍 Thursday: Safotu Catholic Hall
📍 Friday: Fusi Safotulafai Catholic Hall

In partnership with the Ministry of Health Samoa's ENT Unit, these screenings will ensure communities, especially children and those most at risk, have access to timely screening, support and referrals.
