Samoa GIS & RS User Group - SGRUG We are a group of GIS (Geographic Information System) and RS (Remote Sensing) Users from all branches of Government and the Private Sector.

Our main goal is to promote and advance GIS/RS applications and uses in Samoa. Samoa GIS & RS User Group (or SGRUG) is a new and exciting initiative established during the 2020 FOSS4G SoTM Oceanic Conference, whose vision is to build a platform for aspiring GIS and mapping users and graduates to start networking and for building professional development through capacity building initiatives. SGRUG

currently holds monthly meetings for those interested in learning more about geospatial, GIS and remote sensing and how it can be applicable to your work. As part of our monthly meetings, we conduct training workshops on different GIS applications and uses. SGRUG’s long term goal is to utilize it’s members diverse GIS backgrounds to develop robust solutions for our communities through future projects and to develop its members professional developments.
