Small Groups Prepare 17 for Baptism on Gaua.

As part of Vanuatu for Christ, Matafanga Seventh-day Adventist Church on Gaua Island prepared people through small-group Bible studies before conducting two evangelistic programs in August 2026.
Under the leadership of Ministers Rexson Basil and Keith Werere, the church held two weeks of evangelistic meetings at two locations—Kaska village and West Gaua. At Kaska, Minister Cruz Wone from Papua New Guinea presented the gospel, together with health and family presentations. At West Gaua, Minister Joe Rangi from Tanna led the meetings.
The church had prepared the two communities well before the public meetings. At Kaska, Minister Rexson Basil organized small-group Bible studies where people could study God's Word, ask questions and build their relationship with Jesus. Many of those who later attended the evangelistic meetings had already been studying the Bible and attending church.
The preparation brought a significant result. Eleven people from the Last Bon community were baptized at Kaska, most of them young people. Another six people were baptized at West Gaua, bringing the total to 17 baptisms from the two outreach sites.
For Matafanga Church, the experience showed the value of preparing people through personal and small-group Bible study before inviting them to make a public decision for Jesus.
The church believes that reaching people is not only about preaching to a crowd, but also about walking with people through Bible study until they are ready to take their next step of faith.

I Gave My Land and My Life to Jesus.

My name is Duna Lulu, and I come from Tassiriki, on the island of Espiritu Santo. For some time, I had joined different churches, but I was not happy. Deep in my heart, I wanted to belong to a church that followed what the Bible really teaches.
My son, Joel Lulu, who works in Port Vila, told me about his friend, Timothy Lasekula, an Adventist. Timothy had a desire to bring an Adventist program to our village. Joel and Timothy had talked about it for some time, and in August 2026, their plan finally became a reality.
Timothy told us that everything would be organized, but we needed to find a place for the meetings. We first asked the village leaders if the Adventist Church could use the village stage for two weeks of preaching. They did not agree.
I then looked at the space in front of my house and said, “You can build the preaching stage here.”
I was not yet an Adventist, but I wanted the program to happen. I believed that bringing God's Word to our village could help people.
The meetings began, and people came to listen. A singing group from Solomon Islands, Soul Seekers, travelled all the way to Tassiriki to sing for us. A preacher from Solomon Islands also came to share God's Word. Tassiriki is about three hours by road from Luganville, yet people were willing to travel to our village to help us hear the gospel.
As I listened night after night, something changed in me. I began to understand things from the Bible that I had never understood before. I was discovering truth for myself.
Then I made my decision.
I wanted to give my life to Jesus.
When the two-week meetings ended, five of us were baptized. For me, this was more than joining another church. It was a decision to surrender my life to God.
I had already given my land so God's Word could be preached. Now I had given something even more precious—myself.
Today, there is still no Adventist church building in Tassiriki. But six of us are worshipping together every Sabbath in the home of a widow. We study the Bible together, and church minister John Eric is staying with us and helping us grow in God's Word.
I have also given another piece of my land for the first Adventist church to be built in our village. The land is close to the coast, where people travelling by boat can easily see and access the church.
I want this church to be more than a building. I want it to be a place where people like me—people who are searching for Bible truth—can come, listen, learn and give their lives to Jesus.
During the meetings, I also met Timothy in person. He came as a friend of my son, but today I consider him part of my family.
My two sons are happy that I was baptized. And I am thankful that God used my son, Timothy, the singers, the preacher and many others to bring the gospel to our village.
I gave my land to God.
Then I gave my life to Him.
Now my prayer is that many more people in Tassiriki will do the same.

Five Baptized After Two-Week Evangelistic Meeting in Nambatri.

Five people gave their lives to Jesus through baptism at Nambatri in Port Vila on August 22, 2026, following a two-week evangelistic meeting organized by Portoroki Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The meetings were held in an open space close to people’s homes, allowing residents to listen from their houses and hear the Bible messages each evening. The organizers intentionally brought the meetings closer to the community so people could hear the truth and make their own decision about following Jesus.
Projectors were used to present the messages visually, while a portable outdoor sound system, speakers, and microphones helped make the presentations clear for everyone listening.
The two-week program concluded with the baptism of five people, marking a joyful response to the Bible truths they had heard.

Vanuatu for Christ Brings Revival to La Bay.

The Vanuatu for Christ campaign is bringing revival across Vanuatu, with many people who had left the church returning to worship. Churches are becoming so full that some worshippers are sitting outside to hear God’s Word and visiting international preachers and singing groups.
At La Bay Branch of Kaweriki Seventh-day Adventist Church on Efate, many gathered for a combined program on Sabbath, August 15, to hear Pastor Darren Peakall from Western Australia preach and to listen to the Psalm Singers from Solomon Islands.
Some travelled from Forari, while others made the two-hour journey from Port Vila to attend the program. During the Sabbath service, a child dedication was held, while children also had their own special service under the trees beside the sea.
The day concluded with a baptism and a fellowship meal, as families and church members celebrated together the growing response to the gospel.

Vanuatu for Christ Brings the Gospel to the People.

Thousands of people across Vanuatu have gathered each evening to listen to God’s Word, learn new Bible truths, and receive practical messages on health and family life through the Vanuatu for Christ gospel campaign.
For 14 nights, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has taken its evangelistic program outside the church buildings and into the communities—meeting people where they are. Programs are being held in villages, parks, schools, halls, open spaces, and other public places.
The campaign has brought preachers, singers, and prayer supporters from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, and other Pacific countries to join local church members in sharing the gospel.
Vanuatu faces many social and family challenges, but people have been attending the meetings, listening attentively, and participating in the programs. Local church members are also volunteering their time to help their fellow citizens, families, and friends discover a better life and build a relationship with God.
The Vanuatu for Christ campaign seeks to call people back to God and remind the nation of its motto, “Long God Yumi Stanap”—“In God We Stand.” Through preaching, singing, prayer, health messages, and family presentations, thousands are being encouraged to make decisions for Jesus and live according to His Word.
