The coral at Mangaliliu just got a permanent bodyguard 💥💪💯
Everytime a boat anchored previously it was dropping its anchor onto living coral. Blue Pacific World has co financed this initiative by Roawia Marine Coastal Rehabilitation who installed permanent moorings, so boats now tie up to the mooring instead of the reef. No more anchor damage — the coral stays intact, the fish have a safer environment too.

Protecting the ocean doesn't always mean big gestures, these thoughtful changes can make a big impact to a communities ocean resources.

🌊 Calling all Pacific Early-Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP)

Applications for the Floating University 2027 voyage are officially open! The Floating University is an initiative that gives ECOP the chance to gain experience working, living, and conducting science at sea while exploring key issues affecting their region.

🔬 Implemented by Earth Sciences New Zealand, the programme provides Pacific ECOP with hands-on experience in ocean science at sea. Reflecting on her participation, Jessica Maoh from Vanuatu shared: “This voyage strengthened my confidence, broadened my perspective, and deepened my appreciation of the science that supports effective ocean governance.”
