The Fiji National University proudly congratulates ๐ ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฎ, Acting Head of Training at the National Training & Productivity Centre (NTPC), Department of Information Technology, on her election as ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐บ (๐๐ฃ๐ฟ๐๐๐).
Ms Ravindra has served with distinction as a member of APrIGFโs Multistakeholder Steering Group for the past five years. During this time, she has played a vital role in mentoring fellows and youth leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region, empowering emerging voices and supporting representatives from diverse economies to actively contribute to discussions on internet governance and digital policy.
The Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) is a leading regional platform dedicated to fostering dialogue on public policy issues relating to the internet. As part of the global Internet Governance Forum ecosystem, APrIGF promotes an open, inclusive, secure, and sustainable internet across the Asia-Pacific region.
It provides a collaborative space that embraces a bottom-up, multistakeholder approach, bringing together governments, civil society, the private sector, the technical community, academia and youth leaders to collectively shape the future of the digital landscape. Through knowledge sharing, capacity building and regional cooperation, APrIGF continues to strengthen the regionโs voice in global internet governance discussions.
Reflecting on the importance of Safer Internet Day, Ms Ravindra shared:
โThe internet is a shared global resource, and internet governance is everyoneโs responsibility. Ensuring a digital ecosystem that is safe, secure, affordable and inclusive requires the active participation of all stakeholders. By placing people at the centre, we can build an internet that is trusted, sustainable and responsive to our communities.โ
Ms Ravindra will also attend the Online Safety Commissionโs Safer Internet Day 2026 event at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa. This yearโs theme, โ๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐๐, ๐จ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ค๐๐๐๐จ โ ๐๐ญ๐ฅ๐ก๐ค๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ง๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ค๐ฃ๐จ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐ช๐จ๐ ๐ค๐ ๐ผ๐โ, highlights the growing need to promote digital responsibility while embracing emerging technologies that are shaping our future.
Ms Ravindraโs appointment is not only a significant personal achievement but also a proud milestone for Fiji National University and the wider Pacific region. Her leadership reflects the Universityโs commitment to nurturing expertise that contributes meaningfully to regional and global conversations on digital transformation, online safety and inclusive technological advancement.
