Vanuatu Women In Maritime Association Vanuatu Women in Maritime Association is a national body committed to empowering & supporting women across all sectors of the maritime industry in Vanuatu.

Our mission is to promote gender equality, capacity building, & leadership for women in maritime Vanuatu Women in Maritime Association executive committee will focus all thier energy and skills to unite women in maritime:-
• To offer advice and financial support to the women in the Maritime sector to rise the ranks and we will open an avenue to assist finically in obtaining valid qualifications or

revalidating the current certification vanuatu women in maritime have.
• To promote Advocate gender equity.
• Promote education, training and career opportunities for women.
• Recognize the social responsibilities relating to women.
• Promote cooperation, friendship and understanding through the exchange of knowledge and the dissemination of information. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP

We welcome every woman who works in the Maritime Sector, throughout all the provinces of Vanuatu to become a member of our association. To do this, we invite you to email [email protected] for a membership application form. Memberships fees are VT500 per person / VT5,000 per business no matter how many women you have working for you. INVITING ALL SEAFARERS & FAMILIES

This coming Sunday 13th July 2025, there will be an event for SEA SUNDAY at the Tagabe Anglican Church, Port Vila. It starts at 8am hosted by the Vanuatu Mission to Seafarers. Please aim to arrive at 7.45am so that you do not miss the important Church Service which is dedicated to praying for our Vanuatu seafarers.

The Sea Sunday Event is a special opportunity to reflect, pray, and take action for the brave women and men who work at sea to ensure we have everything we need. It is a half-day program, and expected to have a large audience made up of Government Officials, Shipowners, Seafarers, their families. Everyone is welcome to join.

The Vanuatu Mission to Seafarers is a fantastic avenue for Seafarers to visit or communicate with for spiritual counselling when faced with difficulties when at sea or land. They have trained personnel to assist and guide them. Therefore, it is important to us that as many seafarers attend this event, as its dedicated to them.

The theme of this event is “Being there when a storm hits “.
We hope to see there!

INVITING ALL SEAFARERS

This coming Sunday 13th July 2025, there will be an event for SEA SUNDAY at the Tagabe Anglican Church, Port Vila. It starts at 8am hosted by the Vanuatu Mission to Seafarers. Congratulations to our Vanuatu Police Maritime Officer; Inspector Bianca Simeon on her graduation at TAFE Queensland Cairns & Great Barrier Reef International Marine College, Cairns, Australia.

Inspector Bianca Simeon has graduated from her Executive Officer Program and has been training since 24th February 2025 and successfully graduated today; 27th June 2025.

The Executive Officer program covered 18 essential topics, including:
1. Nautical knowledge: Navigation & Bridge Equipment & systems
2. Ship Stability
3. Environmental and Pollution Awareness
4. Emergency Response Management
5. Maintenance management and Operations
6. Ship's Responsibility
7. Cargo operations
8. Leadership, management, and administration

11. Safety management
12. Passage Planning and Operation Plans
13. OOW Navigation & Ship Handling, Berthing & Unberthing
14. Blind Pilotage and communication fleet work & Tactical Manoeuvring
15. Advanced Fire Fighting
16. Advanced First Aid
17. Survival Techniques
18. Advanced Damage control

Inspector Simeon was amongst 11 officers from diverse Pacific Island nations, including Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, Tonga, Fiji and Samoa who attended the course.

Inspector Simeon quoted “The Executive Officer program has significantly enhanced my knowledge and skills as a maritime professional. I'm confident that the skills and knowledge gained will contribute to my success in my future endeavours"
