After weeks of learning, exploring, collaborating, and turning challenges into ideas, Sustainability Impact Challenge 2026 has reached its final milestone: Demo Day.

What began with a room full of curious young sustainability enthusiast has grown into a community of teams ready to put their ideas to the test. From training and case challenges to mentoring and weeks of teamwork, every team has brought their own perspective, creativity, and determination to the SIC journey.

On Demo Day, our finalist teams took the stage to pitch their solutions, share their stories, and show us what sustainable innovation can look like in action. โœจ

But beyond the trophies, SIC 2026 was built around something bigger: learning, connecting, growing, and moving forward together. Every question asked, idea challenged, connection made, and solution developed has been part of the journey.

To every participant, lecturer, mentor, industry partner, sponsor, judge, and member of the SIC community, thank you for making this journey possible.

As Demo Day marks the end of one chapter, it also opens the door to what comes next.

A great solution is not just to have a good idea. It is about making that idea feasible, relevant, and supported by evidence.

During the SIC 2026 Industry Networking Session, our participants heard from three industry experts who shared different perspectives on what it takes to turn an idea into a solution that can actually work.

๐‡๐ฎ๐ฒ๐ž๐ง ๐‡๐จ๐š๐ง๐  highlighted the importance of understanding stakeholder expectations and deliverables. Before developing a solution, problem-solvers need to be clear about what stakeholders actually need and expect them to deliver.

๐Ÿ”น ๐Œ๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐†๐ข๐š๐ง๐  ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฒ๐ž๐ง emphasized the need to understand the industry's real pain points. A solution is more likely to gain stakeholder buy-in when it responds to the realities and challenges of the sector.

๐Ÿ”น ๐Œ๐ซ๐ฌ. ๐Œ๐ฒ ๐•๐ฎ reminded participants that good ideas need to be tested, piloted, and measured. Evidence from real implementation can demonstrate whether a solution works and builds the confidence needed for adoption.

Together, these perspectives gave participants a practical reminder: feasibility is not something we assume; it is something we understand, test, and prove.

A sincere thank you to Dr. Huyen Hoang, Mrs. Giang Nguyen, and Mrs. My Tra Vu for sharing your expertise and helping our participants look beyond the idea itself to consider what it takes to make a solution work in the real world.

For Minh Cฦฐแปng from Vietnamese-German University, the SIC Academic case stood out for its broad scope. Yet its connection to everyday student life made the challenge both relatable and exciting. ๐Ÿ’ก

After weeks of learning, exploring, and challenging ideas, Cฦฐแปng is ready to put those lessons into action and take his teamโ€™s journey all the way to Demo Day.

At SIC, we take learning beyond the classroom and into real-world experiences, connecting participants with communities and the challenges they face firsthand.

As part of the ๐‹๐š๐œ ๐ƒ๐ข๐š trip, our participants travelled to Ba Tri, Bแบฟn Tre, for a closer look at how local communities are turning challenges into opportunities.

From exploring the process of processing water hyacinth to learning how to make Biokit, participants had the chance to see how local knowledge, resources, and practical solutions come together on the ground.

But the experience was not only about observing. Participants also spent time speaking with local residents, particularly farmers, listening to their experiences, understanding their daily challenges, and learning more about the realities behind the issues they were exploring.

Sometimes, understanding a problem means going beyond numbers and seeing it through the eyes of the people living with it every day. This trip was a reminder that meaningful solutions begin with listening, learning, and understanding the real context.

A big thank you to ๐‹๐š๐œ ๐ƒ๐ข๐š and everyone in Ba Tri who welcomed our participants, shared their experiences, and helped make this learning journey possible.
