Sustainability Week is back from 2–8 November 2026, bringing the RMIT Vietnam community together to learn, connect and turn sustainability ideas into action.

This year, we’re inviting Schools, functional departments, academic and professional staff, student clubs and student leaders to share your ideas and help shape the Sustainability Week experience.

Last year, we had around 1,000 participant visits last year. This year, we’re taking Sustainability Week one step further, and your idea could be what’s next. Whether you have expertise to share, an activity you’d love to bring to life, or an initiative you want to put into practice, there are plenty of ways to make it happen and spice it up. 🚀

From proactive questions to an energy that filled the room, our SIC 2026 participants brought curiosity and enthusiasm into their training with 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐡𝐮 𝐍𝐠𝐮𝐲𝐞𝐧, 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐕𝐍𝐔-𝐇𝐂𝐌 (𝐈𝐔).

Your mentoring sessions are a chance to seek guidance, ask questions, and get feedback directly from experienced mentors. To make the most of your time together, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Bringing together expertise from diverse disciplines, the SIC Academic Team reflects the interdisciplinary nature of sustainability. By combining perspectives across STEM, business, social sciences, and sustainable development, they have designed this year's case, inviting participants to explore complex challenges through systems thinking, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving.

Collaboration across disciplines lies at the heart of the SIC Academic Team. By uniting lecturers from four universities, this partnership creates opportunities for participants to learn from diverse perspectives and tackle sustainability challenges with systems thinking, curiosity, and critical thinking.

Based in Ba Tri, Bến Tre, Lạc Địa is an agricultural cooperative transitioning from a conventional model to a co-ownership model, built around a regenerative, coconut-centered value chain on Vietnam's saline coastal land. By working closely with local communities, the cooperative transforms ecological challenges into opportunities while creating shared value for its members.

Driven by a vision of building a circular agriculture economy, Lạc Địa focuses on supporting sustainable agriculture, strengthening local livelihoods, and making better use of agricultural resources through innovative coconut-based products. Their work reflects a commitment to creating long-term environmental, social, and economic value for both people and the land.

At SIC 2026, we believe meaningful learning happens when students get hands-on experience in solving realistic cases and explore sustainability under different scopes and lenses. Through our partnership with Lạc Địa, participants will have the opportunity to explore sustainability from a grassroots perspective, applying their creativity and critical thinking to challenges that matter to both people and the environment.
