NOTIFICATION – JOURNALISM AND CREATIVE WRITING COURSE CLASS LIST

Dear All,

The Global Writing Institute, an initiative founded by Inspire Youth Journal, is a global platform dedicated to teaching writing to young people worldwide, taught by talented students who have earned prestigious international writing awards.

We would like to congratulate the 18 selected participants for being admitted to the Journalism and Creative Writing course (as attached).

The selected students are all promising young talents currently studying in middle school, high school, and university in Vietnam, India, and Mauritius. Many of them have achieved highly regarded international writing awards, including the John Locke Institute Global Essay Prize, the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, the Cambridge Re:Thing Essay Competition, and Inspire Youth Journal’s Edition of the Year 2025.

JOURNALISM AND CREATIVE WRITING COURSE FOR GLOBAL YOUTH

The Global Writing Institute, an initiative founded by Inspire Youth Journal, is a global platform dedicated to teaching writing to young people worldwide, taught by talented students who have earned prestigious international writing awards.

In the summer of 2026, we plan to offer a free online writing class to students around the world that aims to focus on journalism and creative writing. The program will cover different areas of both creative and media industries, providing students with a strong background in writing and teach them various skills related to both the vocational sector and artistic discipline.

The course consists of one journalism and one creative writing workshop a week:

2. Lecturer: Lucie Kealey
- Final-year English-language student, The University of Manchester
- Commendation in Law, John Locke Institute 2024 Global Essay Prize
- Newspaper Writer, Inspire Youth Journal

3. Eligibility
- Published article in Inspire Youth Journal; or
- Shortlisted/Honorable Mention in prestigious writing contests; or
- Demonstrated high English proficiency through test score: IB, AP, A Level, IGCSE, IELTS 8.0+ (Writing 8.0+) or equivalent

4. Registration
- Deadline: 23:59 GMT on July 26, 2026

5. Course Start: 1st week of August 2026 (Exact schedule to be announced)

We will select the 20 top applicants to participate in the course.
