On May 9, more than 300 students, young professionals, Nordic business representatives and media gathered at Van Lang University for the workshop “𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲” - a collaboration between Van Lang University’s Faculty of Commerce and Gokstad Academy, with the support of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi and NordCham Vietnam.

The event created a meaningful bridge between academia and the international business environment, giving participants direct access to insights from Nordic companies including Jotun, SalMar, Carlsberg, and Ekko on the skills, mindset, and adaptability needed to thrive in today’s global workplace.

A strong example of how Nordic collaboration can empower the next generation of talent in Vietnam.

Human-centric learning, a cornerstone of the Finnish education philosophy, is at the heart of 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺–𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 (𝗩𝗙𝗜𝗦), the first international school in Southeast Asia built on Finland’s globally recognised education model.

During our recent visit, through the conversation with 𝗠𝗶𝗲𝗸𝗸-𝗢𝗷𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝘃𝗶 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗶𝗻𝗮, Head of School, we had the opportunity to learn more about how VFIS brings the Nordic approach to education into the Vietnamese context.

Located on the campus of Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City, the school officially started its first academic year in 2019 and combines Finnish pedagogy with modern learning environments designed to nurture curiosity, independence, and collaboration among 350 students from 15 different nationalities.
