🦌 PHÁT HIỆN, XỬ LÝ VỤ VI PHẠM QUY ĐỊNH VỀ BẢO VỆ ĐỘNG VẬT NGUY CẤP, QUÝ, HIẾM TẠI TÂN SƠN

Ngày 14/9/2026, Cơ quan Cảnh sát điều tra Công an tỉnh Phú Thọ đã ra quyết định khởi tố vụ án, khởi tố 01 bị can về hành vi vi phạm quy định về bảo vệ động vật nguy cấp, quý, hiếm theo khoản 1 Điều 244 Bộ luật Hình sự.

Trước đó, qua công tác nắm tình hình, Công an xã Tân Sơn phát hiện vụ việc có dấu hiệu liên quan đến hành vi mua bán trái phép bộ phận động vật hoang dã và chuyển hồ sơ để cơ quan chức năng xác minh, xử lý.

Quá trình xác minh, lực lượng chức năng thu giữ 05 bộ phận đầu và sừng động vật hoang dã, gồm:
🔸 02 bộ phận xương sọ và sừng của Sơn dương – loài thuộc nhóm IB;
🔸 03 bộ phận xương sọ và sừng của Mang thường (Hoẵng) – loài thuộc nhóm IIB.

🦌 DETECTION AND HANDLING OF A VIOLATION OF REGULATIONS ON THE PROTECTION OF ENDANGERED, PRECIOUS, AND RARE WILDLIFE IN TAN SON

On 14 September 2026, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Provincial Police issued decisions to initiate a criminal case and prosecute one suspect for violating regulations on the protection of endangered, precious, and rare animals under Clause 1, Article 244 of the Criminal Code.

Previously, through intelligence-gathering efforts, Tan Son Commune Police detected signs of illegal trading in wildlife parts and transferred the case file to the competent authorities for verification and handling.

During the investigation, the authorities seized five wildlife head and horn specimens, including:
🔸 Two skull and horn specimens of serow, a species listed in Group IB;
🔸 Three skull and horn specimens of common muntjac (barking deer), a species listed in Group IIB.

🦜 TĂNG CƯỜNG BẢO VỆ CHIM HOANG DÃ VÀ CHIM DI CƯ

Những vụ việc được phát hiện gần đây tại nhiều địa phương cho thấy tình trạng săn bắt, nuôi nhốt và mua bán chim hoang dã vẫn diễn ra dưới nhiều hình thức, từ bẫy bắt ngoài tự nhiên đến quảng cáo, giao dịch trên mạng xã hội.

📍 Đồng Tháp: Lực lượng Công an phát hiện một trường hợp sử dụng mạng xã hội để đăng hình ảnh chim trích, chim quốc, cu gáy, rắn và các loài động vật rừng khác nhằm quảng cáo, mua bán. Một vụ việc khác tại xã Tân Long liên quan đến hành vi mua bán trái phép 56 cá thể chim đã chết, với tổng trọng lượng khoảng 21 kg. Tại xã Tân Nhuận Đông, lực lượng chức năng cũng phát hiện 33 cá thể chim cuốc bị nuôi nhốt để ép giống và đã lập hồ sơ xử lý, phối hợp đưa các cá thể chim về môi trường tự nhiên.

📍 Hà Tĩnh: Các lực lượng chức năng đã tổ chức nhiều đợt kiểm tra, tháo dỡ và tiêu hủy các điểm bẫy chim di cư. Đến nay, hơn 20.100 công cụ, dụng cụ bẫy bắt chim đã được thu giữ, tiêu hủy và 110 con chim sống được giải cứu, trả về tự nhiên.

Những vụ việc này cho thấy công tác bảo vệ chim hoang dã cần được triển khai đồng thời tại các điểm săn bắt, nơi tiêu thụ và trên không gian mạng. Cộng đồng có thể góp phần bảo vệ các loài chim hoang dã bằng cách không săn bắt, đặt bẫy, nuôi nhốt, mua bán hoặc tiêu thụ chim có nguồn gốc từ tự nhiên, đồng thời thông báo cho cơ quan chức năng khi phát hiện hành vi vi phạm.

🦜 STRENGTHENING THE PROTECTION OF WILD AND MIGRATORY BIRDS

Recent cases detected in several localities show that the hunting, captivity, and trade of wild birds continue to take place in various forms, ranging from trapping in the wild to advertising and trading on social media.

📍 D**g Thap: Police discovered a case involving the use of social media to post images of waterhens, white-breasted waterhens, spotted doves, snakes, and other forest wildlife for advertising and sale. Another case in Tan Long Commune involved the illegal sale of 56 dead birds, with a total weight of approximately 21 kg. In Tan Nhuan D**g Commune, authorities also discovered 33 waterhens being kept in captivity for breeding. A case file was prepared, and the birds were released back into the wild in coordination with relevant agencies.

📍 Ha Tinh: Authorities conducted several inspections and dismantled and destroyed migratory bird trapping sites. To date, more than 20,100 bird-trapping tools and devices have been confiscated and destroyed, while 110 live birds have been rescued and released back into the wild.

These cases demonstrate that wild bird protection efforts must be carried out simultaneously at hunting sites, points of sale, and on online platforms. The community can help protect wild bird species by not hunting, trapping, keeping, buying, selling, or consuming birds originating from the wild, and by reporting violations to the authorities when detected.

🐯 ĐƯỜNG DÂY VẬN CHUYỂN HỔ TỪ LÀO VỀ VIỆT NAM LĨNH ÁN
Một đường dây vận chuyển trái phép hổ từ Lào về Việt Nam vừa được TAND tỉnh Hà Tĩnh đưa ra xét xử. Các đối tượng đã nhận vận chuyển một con hổ đã chết nặng 133 kg cùng 25 mảnh xương hổ nặng 7,76 kg, sau đó giấu toàn bộ tang vật trong khoang bí mật tự chế trên nóc xe khách để qua mặt lực lượng chức năng.

Khi xe di chuyển trên Quốc lộ 8A, đoạn qua Hà Tĩnh, lực lượng chức năng đã phát hiện và bắt giữ các đối tượng. Kết quả giám định xác định tang vật thuộc loài hổ (Panthera tigris) – loài động vật nguy cấp, quý, hiếm được ưu tiên bảo vệ nghiêm ngặt.

Ngày 28/8/2026, tòa tuyên phạt:
🔹 Ngô Sỹ Sáu: 36 tháng tù + phạt 50 triệu đồng
🔹 Nguyễn Trọng Hùng: 48 tháng tù
🔹 Chu Văn Lâm: 36 tháng tù treo

🐯 TIGER TRAFFICKING RING FROM LAOS TO VIETNAM SENTENCED

A trafficking ring involved in illegally transporting tigers from Laos to Vietnam has recently been brought to trial by the Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Court. The defendants agreed to transport a dead tiger weighing 133 kg and 25 tiger bone fragments weighing 7.76 kg, then concealed all the evidence in a makeshift secret compartment on the roof of a passenger bus to evade law enforcement.

While the bus was traveling along National Highway 8A through Ha Tinh, the authorities discovered and arrested the suspects. Forensic examination confirmed that the seized items belonged to the tiger species (Panthera tigris)—an endangered, rare, and precious species subject to strict protection.

On August 28, 2026, the court sentenced:
🔹 Ngo Sy Sau: 36 months in prison + a fine of VND 50 million
🔹 Nguyen Trong Hung: 48 months in prison
🔹 Chu Van Lam: 36 months suspended sentence
🔹 Ngo Sy Bac: 30 months suspended sentence

WCLI COURSE MODULE 3 “LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS IN COMBATING WILDLIFE TRAFFICKING”
From August 16–20, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh and D**g Nai City, the Wildlife Conservation Society, Viet Nam Program (WCS Viet Nam), in collaboration with the Viet Nam Procuratorate University, Branch in Ho Chi Minh City (VPU-HCMC), organized the course module on “Leadership and management skills in combating wildlife trafficking”. This was the third thematic course in the “Wildlife Crime Leadership Initiative” (WCLI) – Cohort 3, designed for 20 prosecutors from southern Viet Nam.

KHỞI TỐ NGƯỜI ĐÀN ÔNG VẬN CHUYỂN 48,5KG SƠN DƯƠNG ĐẾN SA PA TÌM MỐI TIÊU THỤ

🚨 48,5kg bộ phận sơn dương bị phát hiện khi đang vận chuyển đến Sa Pa để tìm người mua

Ngày 4/8/2026, tại phường Sa Pa, tỉnh Lào Cai, Công an phường Sa Pa phát hiện Hà Đức Tâm (SN 1989) điều khiển xe mô tô, chở theo 2 thùng xốp có biểu hiện nghi vấn.

Kiểm tra, lực lượng chức năng phát hiện bên trong chứa nhiều bộ phận của một cá thể động vật đã bị mổ, gồm đầu, cổ, thân và các chân, với tổng khối lượng 48,5kg. Tâm khai nhận đây là sơn dương, được mua với giá 15,52 triệu đồng tại Lai Châu và vận chuyển đến Sa Pa để tìm người mua bán lại.

Ngày 14/8, Cơ quan CSĐT Công an tỉnh Lào Cai đã khởi tố vụ án, khởi tố bị can Hà Đức Tâm về tội “Vi phạm quy định về bảo vệ động vật nguy cấp, quý, hiếm” theo khoản 1 Điều 244 Bộ luật Hình sự.

MAN CHARGED AFTER TRANSPORTING 48.5KG OF SEROW TO SA PA TO FIND BUYERS

🚨 48.5kg of serow parts discovered while being transported to Sa Pa for sale

On August 4, 2026, in Sa Pa Ward, Lao Cai Province, Sa Pa Ward Police discovered Hà Đức Tâm (born in 1989) riding a motorbike and carrying two styrofoam boxes under suspicious circumstances.

Upon inspection, authorities found the boxes contained various parts of a slaughtered animal, including the head, neck, torso, and legs, weighing a total of 48.5kg. Tâm admitted that the animal was a serow, which he had purchased in Lai Chau for VND 15.52 million and transported to Sa Pa to find buyers and resell it.

On August 14, the Investigation Police Agency of Lao Cai Provincial Police initiated a criminal case and prosecuted Hà Đức Tâm for “Violating regulations on the protection of endangered, precious, and rare animals” under Clause 1, Article 244 of the Criminal Code.

🚨 PHÁT HIỆN VỤ VẬN CHUYỂN TRÁI PHÉP GẦN 1,2 TẤN NGÀ VOI VÀ 80 KG XƯƠNG ĐỘNG VẬT HOANG DÃ

Ngày 12/8, lực lượng chức năng phát hiện 3 container từ châu Phi về Việt Nam, cập cảng Quy Nhơn ngày 9/7/2026, được khai báo là gỗ xẻ nhưng có dấu hiệu nghi vấn.

Qua khám xét từ ngày 6–8/8, lực lượng chức năng phát hiện và thu giữ:

🦣 1.193 kg ngà voi, thuộc họ Voi (Elephantidae)
🐆 79,3 kg xương động vật, được xác định thuộc họ Mèo lớn (Felidae)

Các mẫu vật đều thuộc các Phụ lục của CITES.

Theo Cục Hải quan, đây là vụ việc có khối lượng tang vật đặc biệt lớn được phát hiện tại khu vực miền Trung trong những năm gần đây, đồng thời là vụ việc lớn đầu tiên được phát hiện tại cảng Quy Nhơn.

Ngày 10/8, hồ sơ và tang vật đã được bàn giao cho Cơ quan Cảnh sát điều tra Công an tỉnh Gia Lai để tiếp tục xử lý theo thẩm quyền.

🚨 DISCOVERY OF ILLEGAL TRANSPORT OF NEARLY 1.2 TONS OF IVORY AND 80 KG OF WILDLIFE BONES

On August 12, authorities discovered three containers originating from Africa and destined for Vietnam, which arrived at Quy Nhon Port on July 9, 2026. The shipment was declared as sawn timber but showed suspicious signs.

During inspections conducted from August 6–8, authorities discovered and seized:

🦣 1,193 kg of ivory, belonging to the Elephant family (Elephantidae)
🐆 79.3 kg of animal bones, identified as belonging to the big cat family (Felidae)

All specimens are listed under the CITES Appendices.

According to the Customs Department, this is a case involving an exceptionally large volume of contraband seized in the Central region in recent years, and also the first major case detected at Quy Nhon Port.

On August 10, the case file and evidence were handed over to the Investigative Police Agency of Gia Lai Provincial Police for further handling in accordance with their authority.

🚨 LỆNH BẮT KHẨN CẤP NGƯỜI PHỤ NỮ 55 TUỔI MUA BÌNH RƯỢU RẮN HỔ MANG CHÚA

Công an TP Hà Nội vừa bắt khẩn cấp và tạm giữ một người phụ nữ vì hành vi mua bán trái phép bình rượu ngâm rắn hổ mang chúa (Ophiophagus hannah) – loài động vật nguy cấp, quý, hiếm thuộc Nhóm IB, được ưu tiên bảo vệ theo quy định của pháp luật.

Vụ việc là lời nhắc nhở rằng không chỉ săn bắt hay buôn bán, mà cả việc mua, tàng trữ, vận chuyển hoặc tiêu thụ các sản phẩm từ động vật hoang dã nguy cấp cũng có thể dẫn đến trách nhiệm hình sự.
