A Small Donation, A Big Beginning. 🔭✨

At Diem Huong Foundation, we believe that the most meaningful investments are the ones that spark curiosity, create opportunities, and empower young people to explore beyond what once seemed possible.

Today, we are delighted to see 1 unit of the SHG 700 Spectroheliograph officially delivered to the Vietnam Astrophysics Club (VLTV) at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH).

Astronomy is about much more than taking beautiful images of the night sky. With spectroscopy, students can begin answering some of the most fundamental questions in astrophysics: What are stars made of? How hot are they? How fast are they moving? These are the same techniques used by professional observatories around the world, and now they are becoming accessible to a passionate community of young Vietnamese astronomers.

We hope this instrument will become more than just a piece of equipment. We hope it becomes a platform for learning, collaboration, research, and inspiration, helping nurture the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.

This project carries a very personal meaning for us. Supporting science and education was a conviction deeply held by my late mother, and it was in her memory that the Diem Huong Foundation was established. I truly believe she would have been incredibly proud to see her name helping bring opportunities like this to the next generation of Vietnamese astronomers and scientists.

Congratulations to the entire VLTV club on this exciting milestone. We look forward to seeing your first stellar spectra , solar images and following the discoveries that lie ahead.

Diễm Hương Foundation and MLAstro are proud to stand behind the Bates Solar Astronomy Project. We have been a returning donor to this remarkable initiative, which provides direct, tangible support in bringing the wonder of astronomy and science to communities across 27 countries.

At a time when anti science rhetoric is growing louder and more corrosive, organizations like CBSAP are not merely valuable, they are indispensable. They embody the very ideals MLAstro seeks to uphold, and the same convictions my late mother, for whom this foundation is named, held so dearly. This is not just charity. It is a principled commitment to reason, curiosity, education, and human progress.

Science is one of the few things that allows us to confront reality with honesty, to understand the universe with humility, and to treat one another with greater wisdom and compassion. Through reason and evidence, we do not merely explain the world around us. We learn how to live in it together.

If you have a little to spare, I strongly encourage you to support credible science focused nonprofits as well. The future will not be safeguarded by ignorance, superstition, or cynicism. It will be secured by those willing to invest in knowledge, critical thought, and the next generation.

We’re proud to announce that MLAstro, through the Diễm Hương Foundation for Education (DHFE), has donated a full set of the MLAstro SHG 700 with guide kit to Quy Nhơn Observatory (QNO) — Vietnam’s largest state-owned observatory, home to the CDK 600 telescope.

This donation is part of our ongoing pledge to dedicate 1% of all MLAstro revenue to advancing science education and public outreach through DHFE — established in memory of my mother, Nguyễn Diễm Hương, who believed deeply in the power of learning.

QNO and its parent organization, Explora Science Quy Nhơn, have been shining examples of what science outreach can (and should) be. Their dedication to making astronomy accessible to the public is inspiring, and their moral support played an instrumental role in helping shape the MLAstro SHG 700 from its earliest days.

This is just one small step. But step by step, our goal is to make MLAstro a company that not only builds tools for discovery — but one that gives back, with real social responsibility and long-term commitment to the communities we serve.

[LỜI TRI ÂN TỪ CÂU LẠC BỘ THIÊN VĂN USAC]

Câu lạc bộ Thiên văn USAC xin trân trọng gửi lời cảm ơn sâu sắc đến anh Nguyễn Trường Minh - Nhà sáng lập đồng thời là CEO của đơn vị MLAstro vì đã tin tưởng và tài trợ cho USAC một (01) bộ Nhật Phổ Kế SHG700 cùng thị kính điện tử đi kèm, thông qua Quỹ Giáo dục Diễm Hương (Diễm Hương Foundation).

Quỹ Giáo dục Diễm Hương được anh sáng lập nhằm tưởng niệm thân mẫu của mình - một sự chuyển hóa đầy nhân văn khi ký ức và tình thân được tiếp nối bằng những đóng góp thiết thực cho giáo dục và khoa học. Đối với USAC, đây không chỉ là sự hỗ trợ về thiết bị, mà còn là một thông điệp sâu sắc về trách nhiệm xã hội và tinh thần phụng sự cộng đồng mà MLAstro theo đuổi.

Bộ Nhật phổ kế SHG700 sẽ được Câu lạc bộ đưa vào các hoạt động học thuật trọng tâm bao gồm:
- Quan sát, ghi nhận phổ Mặt Trời, phân tích cấu trúc và sự biến thiên quang phổ theo thời gian
- Phục vụ các chương trình giáo dục STEM và hoạt động phổ biến khoa học cộng đồng

Việc được tiếp cận và vận hành một thiết bị quang phổ Mặt Trời do chính một đơn vị Việt Nam nghiên cứu và phát triển là cơ hội học thuật đặc biệt quý báu đối với các thành viên USAC.

Sự đồng hành của MLAstro thông qua Quỹ Giáo dục Diễm Hương không chỉ nâng cao chất lượng chuyên môn của Câu lạc bộ, mà còn là nguồn động viên tinh thần mạnh mẽ, khích lệ USAC tiếp tục theo đuổi khoa học với thái độ nghiêm túc, bền bỉ và có trách nhiệm với cộng đồng.

Một lần nữa, USAC xin gửi lời tri ân sâu sắc và những lời chúc tốt đẹp nhất đến anh Nguyễn Trường Minh cùng toàn thể đội ngũ MLAstro. USAC tin rằng sự đồng hành đầy ý nghĩa này sẽ tiếp tục lan tỏa giá trị của khoa học, giáo dục và tinh thần nhân văn đến thế hệ trẻ yêu thiên văn tại Việt Nam.

Toward the end of 2025 and early 2026, MLAstro and the Diễm Hương Foundation were honored to support astronomy education and outreach through two meaningful donations.

A SHG 700 was donated to the St. Petersburg Astronomy Club, one of the oldest astronomy clubs in the United States, founded in 1927. The unit was used as a raffle prize to help raise funds for the club’s ongoing operations, supporting nearly a century of volunteer driven education, public outreach, and grassroots astronomy.

In parallel, a complete SHG 700 system with an IMX678 camera was donated to CLB Thiên văn USAC, a Vietnamese student based astronomy organization run by students for students. USAC focuses on hands on learning, peer collaboration, and direct involvement in real observational projects, empowering the next generation of astronomers through practice rather than theory alone.

Both organizations strongly resonate with the values of MLAstro and the Diễm Hương Foundation. We believe in open access to scientific tools, community driven learning, education first, and supporting people who build and share knowledge from the ground up.

These values come directly from the woman the foundation is named after. My mom believed deeply in education, in quiet encouragement, and in sharing knowledge without expecting anything in return. To her, legacy was never about recognition, but about leaving something meaningful behind that continues to help others grow. Through MLAstro and the Diễm Hương Foundation, I hope to share her warmth and care with those who need it, so that her legacy can continue to live on through meaningful contributions.

We are proud to stand alongside groups that keep astronomy open, accessible, and deeply human. We believe the world can be a better place when people share the same curiosity and appreciation for the vastness and beauty of space. Anything we can do to help people keep looking up and keep asking questions, we will do it to the greatest extent we can.
