Our favorite little dog Doug needs a temp foster for about 2 weeks.

Doug was adopted by a wonderful family the shelter has know for many years, but they do have a travel obligation they need to fufill.

We are hoping to see if anyone can watch Doug starting this weekend until the end of the month when they return.

He is a wonderful, easy going dog who doesn't need much. He is slatted to start his heartworm treatment next month. He does fine with other dogs and cats.

If you can help foster Doug for a short period of time please email the ACC at [email protected] or PM our page for more information.

We are thrilled to share that our sweet Ella, who flew to New York in May to join one of our partner shelters, was adopted this past weekend!

As a volunteer favorite, we couldn't be happier for her. We hope she continues to share her famous "Ella Hugs" with her new family and friends.

Congratulations to her adopters, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who spent time with her during her stay at the ACC. We also want to extend our gratitude to our wonderful partners at Badass Animal Rescue for taking her into their care and helping her find a home.

Wilbur is looking for a forever home. He has been in foster care since the day the ACC took him on.

He did not have the best start to life and was brought into the ACC with a broken leg. He has come a long way but still needs the right home for him.

Wilbur is a super sweet energetic puppy! He is just about a year old and will be around 50-60lbs full grown.

He is crate trained and knows a handful of basic commands.

He is still very excited to see cats but has potential living with cats (currently in foster with 2 and lots of supervision and rules). He also get along with other dogs if introduced properly in the right environment.

He would benefit being with an active person. He’s great on a leash He rarely pulls but in the event he does a proper collar and harness does make a huge difference.

He would do best in a home with no young children but can be in a home with older kids who are comfortable around larger dogs.

He is food motivated.

He does do better with females, and can be unsure of men he doesn't know, but with proper introduction does well.

For more information on Wilbur you can email the ACC at [email protected] or PM our page.

Help Us Stock Our Shelter Food Pantry!!

Our shelter food pantry needs help restocking, and one of our biggest needs right now is canned kitten food. As the summer months arrive, more kittens come through our doors, and we’re preparing for the seasonal increase. Your support helps us make sure every little one has the nourishment they need. A thoughtful donation today can make an immediate difference for animals in our care.

Why Kitten Food?

Kitten season brings a surge of tiny arrivals during the warmer months, and those young animals need extra care right away. Proper nutrition is essential for their growth, energy, and overall health. Canned kitten food is especially important because it is easier for young kittens to eat and digest as they learn to transition to solid food. When kittens get the right start, they have a better chance to grow strong and thrive.

We are excited to share that the final four pups of the seven we had headed off to their new starts, 4 pups two separate flights!!!

These chunky 12-week-old puppies will be looking for forever homes while they are in foster care.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Susana at All Paws on Deck for once again supporting the ACC and the dogs in our care. In addition to these four, they also took in another pup earlier this month.

We also want to thank Robert and the Wong family for es**rting one puppy on their flight to Hartford, as well as Susan, Laurie, and Sabina for es**rting the other three to Boston.

It truly takes a team to make this happen. A big shout out to Tammy and Scott for deploying to Hartford and Boston on behalf of All Paws on Deck to pick up these babies.
